Issue #208 - 10 Bachelors on the Rise!
#5
Our recent feature created a stirred a large response from our readership, both positive and negative. These letters are only a representative sample. What do you think of the issue? Letters From Our Readers!
To the Editor of Witch Weekly:
I was appalled by your recent issue exploring the possibility of 'getting rid of' a pregnancy, and I would hate to think that you or your staff would condone such abhorrent behavior! You really ought to choose your subject matter more carefully, and remember that young, impressionable women read your magazine and might be given ideas by such a terrible story!
Shocked & Scandalized

Dear Witch Weekly,
While I understand that you might think the recent testimonial from the anonymous young strumpet would be of interest to your readers, I can't help but question the timing of such a piece. In the holiday season, ones' thoughts should be focused on family, charity, and love — not exploring the possibility that young women anywhere might be off doing something like that! Why couldn't your feature have been a recipe for winter pudding, instead?
Seasonal Cheer, Not Seasonal Fear

Dear Witch Weekly,
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I thought your choice to feature the woman who had taken a potion to be quite timely. It is a strange world we live in when that becomes a preferable alternative, at least in the eyes of the affected woman, to becoming an unwed mother! Whatever we think of the morality of the woman in question, our society should have a way to help the poor children who result from such unions. Minister Ross espoused ideas of equality and education for children from unfortunate backgrounds, but his policies so far haven't produced any real change. How can we work to prevent bastard children from paying their entire lives for their mother's mistakes? What can we do to stop things like the actions featured in your article from happening again? This is something we should all be thinking about, especially at the holiday season!
