November 19th of 1889

I can still hardly believe that February had a baby. She is the most delightful little thing. I want to have babies someday, I've decided. Though I will need a husband for that first, of course. I still have time though and it is probably for the best that my elder sisters marry before I even have a beau courting me. It would do no harm to try attracting one though - but maybe I'll put in an ad in Lonely Hearts for one of them.

Mister Cardew responded positively to my letter and he liked my cookies! He has suggested we play a round of croquet together. Will that become our 'thing'? Could I have hopes of becoming Mrs. January Cardew? A girl can always dream.

July 31, 1891

Another season is seemingly passing with little to no serious prospects. I am beginning to consider starting a herbologist career. It would be perfectly acceptable and quite suiting for me. I will talk to mother and perhaps my sisters to see what they think.
