TL;DR version of needs: help me make Thaddeus grow and get outside of his head by making him as awkward as possible!

Friends/Former Classmates: Thaddeus was pretty much obsessed with books in school, but I imagine he had to have some friends who dragged him out from time to time. Not much has changed now that he's older -- still obsesses over work and tends to forget about having a social life beyond that -- but he did rely on his wife to do the dragging out, so to speak. Now that Josephine is gone, it would be great to have some friends that insist that he come out with them and do fun things! Thaddeus actually likes to have fun once he accepts that it's okay; give him a few drinks and a good lively discussion or a game of backgammon and he'll be totally content. I actually have some plans to get him involved with the Magical Equity Club, maybe! It sounds like something he could get into!

Enemies: He haaaaaates the stereotypical debutante who only cares for fashion and other such fripperies. He's also terrible at small talk, so gossipy busy-body types would probably drive him crazy. But I like to be bad, so if you deliberately want to pester Thaddeus and make him grumpy (preferably where he can't get away, like maybe a museum sponsored event?) be my guest.

Hurls: He'd be miserable without someone he deems as 'intellectual' as him, which is crazy subjective but there you have it. If it's a lady, preferably MC/UC because what else would Society think. Guys might be a little more flexible since everything would have to be on the DL anyway, so I'll say any class on that one. In general he's the sort who sucks at picking up signals and who someone would have to be super blatant about their intentions with. Also emotions make him super super uncomfortable, so I expect he'd probably attempt to awkwardly push someone he was actually interested in away because it's (in his head!) what's best. I prefer for romance plots to happen organically, but if you're interested we can see if the chemistry works and go from there!

Hello, Jackie and welcome!

First and foremost, I have @"Fortuna Lockhart" here who is hopefully going to become a curator at the museum. While she's a bit romantically involved, I could see them becoming friendly because she's not your typically deb and quite intelligent.

Then I have Clinton Podmore who is just a year older but they could still have been school friends of sorts. He was a Slytherin but He's never been overly pompous about class or any of that kinda stuff. Fletcher Langley is the same age/years as him but was Gryffindor so he might be a better option as a classmate/friend.

I'm woefully lacking on the hurlable ladies front though but if any of my other peeps strike a fancy for something I'm always down for new threads!

Another Glorious MJ Set!

Thaddeus would love to have another curator around! He would be more than happy to show her the behind the scenes areas at the museum or help her however he can. He's very much into the idea of preserving magical history and teaching the younger generations about the past, so I'm sure he'd love someone to ramble to about how ~important~ education is and whatnot.

Fletcher would probably be the better fit, and I could see their personalities meshing a little bit better than Clinton and Thaddeus! I imagine Thaddeus would have to tease him juuust a little about being featured in Witch Weekly, but all in good fun.

Hello, my name's Bree! Welcome to Charming, Jackie <3

Finnian Byrne is the only character I have who's in his age and and is also friendly enough to have befriended him.  He was a Gryffindor in the class of 1875 and is a member of the infamous Connolly family (though fortunately has avoided notoriety himself!). He's not always the most mindful of his actions, but generally outgoing~

My other men in his age range are Albert Pettigrew and Cornelius Sherington III, but they're outside of his social circle, so any friendships would have to revolve around a specific purpose.

I think I lack ladies who Thaddeus might be interested in him because most of my MC ladies are into ~society things (with the exception of Tessa Darrow, who still might be lacking intellectually for him!). @"Helga Scamander" sounds like the sort of debutante who might be a bother to him, but she's unlikely to stick around if she finds him a "bore".

I also have some characters that might be good in specific situations:

❧ Jossima Warbeck and Handsome Whitledge are my quidditch-y characters, with the former being a solid professional while the latter just graduated from Hogwarts and joined the pros.

Ooh, Finnian sounds so friendly and I think he'd be a nice balance for Thaddeus! Lord knows an outgoing person is exactly what Thad needs - I imagine if they were friends in school, Finnian probably dragged/wheedled/blackmailed Thaddeus into doing a whole bunch of things that Thad grumbled about at first but actually enjoyed in the end. Also Thad is crazy aware of what consequences actions have, so I imagine he would do a lot of inward cringing when Finnian gets an idea for a wild lark hahaha

I have a couple of friend options for you Mason Skeeter and Quincey Honeyduke  were both in his year and Hufflepuffs (I have a #type, it's fine). Both are pretty outgoing, though Mason is more reserved and Quin quirky. In school Mason was very much the responsible one, a prefect and generally a good student. Quin on the other hand was good at making messes and going on adventures, he's incredibly creative however and smart in his own right.

He and Carmelina Cramming should absolutely be nerdy friends! She and her late husband were off out of the country on archaeological digs for a good few years but she definitely would have kept in touch with museum friends through that! Her husband died a couple of years ago so they have that in common too - and she's also about to newly take up the Ancient Runes professor position at Hogwarts for September and is currently very nervous/excited about that!

If his interest in liberal politics grows Jude Wright would love to chat social justice with like-minded people anyday! He's an activist based in London.

Ari Fisk is a bit older but lives in Bartonburg and is definitely an introverted, intellectual, not-society type (he's also gay, though has been hopelessly pining over his best friend for years and years xD) so a potential friend? Similarly Elias Grimstone is eccentric but pretty easy-going, would always be up for drinks? I also have Porphyria Dempsey who is not your stereotypical debutante (she is a cheerfully morbid poet & spinster-to-be) and can be kind of rude but is always up for an intellectual debate.

I'd love a thread with her - they could despair over societal rules together, I think.

Thad lives in Hogsmeade, and with the fog I imagine he'll be stuck there for a bit! (Typically he'd apparate to the museum but no magic!) So he'll be there until the fog lifts, I imagine, puttering around. Would you like to start with Mason?

I have a few people around his age (Thom Pettigrew, 32YO UCPB; J. Alfred Darrow, 33YO MCHB; Reuben Crouch, 28YO MCPB), but I'm not sure any of them are particularly suited for friends. Thom was more interested in people of his own class and too obsessed with Quidditch to pull someone out of their books; Ben would have thought he was a nerd and left him alone; and Alfred might have been a member of a large friend group but probably wouldn't have had the initiative to drag him out of his books on his own.

That being said, I do think he'd make a pretty great fit for Esther Brownes Adoptable plot, if you're game! We'd have to wait until after the fog since she's stuck in Hogsmeade, but let me know if that's something you'd be interested in!

Hiiiii Lynn! I am soooo intrigued by the whole mess Esther has herself in with her sister and husband and all of that! I'd love to hurl Thaddeus at her and see what happens because she sounds like an awesome, smart lady with a whole lot of hidden depths. Thaddeus actually lives in North Bartonburg and is stranded in Hogsmeade with the fog making it difficult to Apparate in to London for work, so it might be possible for them to bump into each other now? Not sure if they would have known much of each other in school, since he was a solid four years ahead of her in school.
