UCPB families, and other Friends of the Blackwoods, anyone that Ginny may have socialized with or been friendly with. Along with any society notables.
If in doubt PM me.

Cost: N/A

Where: The Blackwood country estate
Why: The Victorian upper classes were mad for Boxing Day hunts (still happen all over the UK and Ireland ). The Blackwoods host a hunt annually that involves a huge house party, some fox hunting and a steeple chase.
People would arrive the morning of Boxing Day bright and early, for a fox hunt, followed by dinner, drinks and dancing, steeple chase occurs the next day. Those who wish to stay another day are treated to another dinner and a ball. People tend to trickle home after that.

When: 26th Decmber

Put any extra details here!

ACAB | REP +# | PRIVATE CHRISTMAS PARTY

What: Gillenwater-Bell Christmas Party
Who: Hosted by Ambrose Bell for Cameron Gillenwater, Madeline Bell, and Greta Gillenwater's school friends
Cost:
Where: Gillenwater-Bell household in Irvingly!
Why: The Gillenwater-Bell household is moving to Irvingly at the beginning of holiday break and are holding a holiday housewarming party.
When: Evening of December 20th

Now that all of the children in the Gillenwater-Bell household are confirmed witches/wizards, Ambrose and Annie decided to move from Godric's Hollow to the village of Irvingly so the kids can be closer to school and the magical community as a whole. The house is basically a duplication of their old home, but it's now on one of the more spacious lots to allow for more quidditch practice. Cam, Maddy, and Greta's friends are encouraged to get dressed up and enjoy a night of hot cocoa, stereotypical teenage games, and general holiday festivities.

UCAB | REP +6 | BALL

What: Christmas Eve Ball
Who: Ophelia hosting for typical society types. Guests must be UC or upper-middle with good connections. Ladies must be "out" to receive an invitation, gentlemen 21 or older. No known halfbreeds, people with recent scandals, or people who are generally considered odd/outside normal society. Invitations will be checked at the door so no party crashers.
Cost: N/A.
Where: Wellingtonshire
Why: Christmas!
When: 24 December

Typical Christmas decor throughout, with a large tree in the center of the ballroom. Each guest will have an illusory Christmas gift tied to one of the lower branches; for ladies these will be bits of jewelry they can wear that evening, for men an accessory such as a pin, cufflinks, pocket watch, etc. These will disappear as guests leave the party because they're just charms.

There will also be magic mistletoe which will appear if an appropriate couple lingers off the dance floor for too long together. Ophelialiterally made a list of approved couples beforehand, so for anyone in a known relationship it's your SO; for single guests Ophelia picked 3-4 other guests based on who she thinks would make a good couple (feel free to decide these yourselves but if in doubt ask me).

ACAB | REP +# | FAMILY CHRISTMAS GATHERING

What: Longbottom Christmas Dinner
Who: Hermione Longbottom will be hosting dinner/Christmas day. If you are related to Hermione Longbottom or Harriet Prewett you have been invited
Cost: N/A
Where: At Hermione's Wellingtonshire House
Why: It is Christmas day and Hermione wants to see the whole family gathered for some festive cheer
When: December 25, 1890

Guests are expected to start arriving around 11 am. The house is decorated very tastefully with snow enchanted to fall from the ceilings but disappear before it lands, Christmas garlands are on banisters and surfaces, there is a Christmas village with enchanted townspeople set up in the drawing room.

Dinner will be served at 12 pm precisely. There will be several courses, including a duck course and a lamb course. In between courses there will be Christmas crackers (because Hermione is not unsympathetic to the children seated at the table).

After dinner they will move into the drawing room where a large tree has been set up, a very very large pile of presents spills from under the tree to almost the length of the room and is mid thigh high. Hermione spoiled everyone this year. There are dolls, toy soldiers, rocking horses, toy brooms, clothes, and books for the children. For the adults Hermione bought muffs, smoking caps, cuff links, bracelets, gloves, scarves, and as well as more personalized gifts for each of her children. [Basically whatever you want her to gift you she's done that, plus several more items you may or may not want.] There won't be much ceremony in the gift opening, Hermione would rather see the happy chaos of her family opening gifts. However, the double doors to the sitting room have been opened for the adults to socialize while the children play with their gifts. Eggnog and festive cocktails will be served to the adults and she will likely press her relations into playing the pianoforte and singing Christmas carols if they are all merry enough.

Everyone is invited to stay for supper which will be a simpler affair, no need to change for it, it shall also include more fun and informal food. After supper you may stay as long as you like, and if you partook in too much eggnog or one too many hot toddys you are more than welcome to spend the night as Hermione has made sure all her guest rooms and children's rooms and even the nursery have been made ready for guests.

ACAB | REP +4 | QUIDDITCH BALL

What: Thom Pettigrew's Annual Quidditch Christmas Party
Who: Members of the Quidditch Industry more or less regardless of reputation, unless you recently murdered someone or something. Players, sponsors, Hogwarts Quidditchers in 5th-7th year, DMG&S members, etc.
Puddlemere players can invite two guests, anyone else gets the typical +1 for a spouse.
Cost: No, but gambling is available so those inclined to do so might lose a little money.
Where: Thom's estate in Lancashire
Why: Ostensibly for Christmas but also to schmooze with/ recruit new players.
When: 19 December

The ballroom features Quidditch-themed decor and mistletoe flitting about on snitches. Tables for poker and tabletop Quidditch are available and light gambling is encouraged at each. The garden/patio is also open to guests and experiencing magically-induced snow that falls at just the right rate and never gets deeper than about an inch. Thom will be cornering players of interest and plying them with drinks and introducing them to his players.

UCAB | REP +5 | BALL

What: New Year's Eve: The Great Ball of Fire
Who: Antigone is hosting a NYE ball and pretty much anyone UC is welcome (unless they're really questionable), she wants it to be hottest society event of NYE. Pun intended.
Cost: Free!
Where: Oakshire Hall, Kent
Why: Tig's starting to get her socialite on because screw Ellory. And everyone else.
When: December 31st

The theme is fire because fireworks. As such, there's a lot of decorative fire: wall sconces, braziers inside and out, mini firework/sparkleresque things whizz around every so often and will increase in quantity as midnight draws closer, little balls of fire that float around prettily in a variety of colors*. There's also a heavily tranquilized firecrab on display for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully it stays that way.

The dancefloor looks like lava. It is not lava but it is warmer than a normal floor and it gets warmer the longer you stand stationary on it. It won't hurt unless you're literally stood on the dancefloor for like 15 minutes without lifting your foot off the ground even a little.

Outside there is a life size replica of a Ukranian Ironbelly. It's a hollow structure with a discreet entrance in the front and a staircase inside with a few places to step out because it's ultimately a viewing platform for the firework display at midnight. You can walk out onto the wings where there are benches (which is odd because you didn't see those from the ground), there are also a couple seats at the very top in the dragon's mouth which will be cleared out ahead of midnight so Tig and her favorites can sit there.

Guests are encouraged to dress to the fiery theme but it's not technically a costume party.

*They are enchanted to draw attention and make people want to touch them. 90% of them just feel vaguely soft and warm, the other 10% feel like fire because they're fire.

SEE BELOW | REP +7 | FESTIVAL

What: Podmore Zoological Gardens New Year's Festival
Who: Upper & Upper-Middle Class / Lower Middle & Working Class
Cost: Donations Recommended!
Where: Podmore Zoological Gardens
Why: Ringin' in the 1891 New Year!
When: 31 December; Evening into Midnight, for obvious reasons.

Set Up: All the zoo will be decorated in the same orbs that float around Padmore Park — careful! They might get a little too attached to you. There are two entrances for each party, each with a large sparkling arch with multicolored lights strung around the trees and bushes (though the Upper & U-Middle's will be slightly more extravagant). Some will randomly detach and float around waiting for you to catch them. At the end of the night, the one who caught the most wins a prize!

There are two parties being held at this time; one for upper class and upper-middle class, another for lower-middle and working classes! Food/drinks are appropriate for each class.

Entertainment: A floating string quartet will be playing in addition to a floating dance floor — the edge is bewitched so guests can't fall off (though as we know, there are such things as temporary magical glitches ;) )

Traditional games are also offered, as well as a few activities for younger children.

At the stroke of midnight, the lights will transform into magical bells and start ringing; some will randomly fly together and explode in a colorful firework display.
