Nelson is adorable. I just read his History and poor dude, part of me wants to hug him now. Sooooooo, the first thing to come to my mind is that Irene would find him a weirdo and probably outright bully him, buuuuuut to escape cliché, another option is they befriended each other due to both of them excelling at Herbology, during their first year. She would be ashamed of having a mute friend, a bit, slowly growing out of it, but maybe she did stuff to keep their friendship hidden (he could realize this now and we could have a lot of drama). Any of the options work for me <3 she's a bit of a mean character, and most of the time I want to slap her, but she'd never resort to physical violence so there's that.

Yeeeeeess!! King's heart and my heart are both warmed due to, he hella needs more friends! BUT MA DUDE! I remember reading about this plot somewhere and thinking it was fantastic. I cooooooould see him being really sad by the things she has written regarding their common friends, though he wouldn't shun her out for the simple fact he also doesn't think it's fair. I could see him talking to her right after everything has happened and asking if things are ok, but also leaving it clear he doesn't believe what she did was excusable without effort from her part. It could lead to an interesting dynamic if you're down to plotting this further.

And yeah, Irene would straight up hate her. Bully her loudly. Throw it at her face. Etc, etc. //btw, it's more that Irene looks down on her for somehow allowing her diary to 'get out' in the first place, not for the stuff she wrote.

King loves Ancient Runes <3 He's big on writing and one day he wants to write a fantasy that involves runes, also in hopes to somehow make it for better learning for children because he sees how much his friends struggle. He's taking it right now, yeah!

............................. this is. probably one of the most fantastic plots at making me laugh out loud that I've ever seen. I NEED Irene gushing over this hedgehod, completely unaware it's in fact a man. Seriously tho, King would treat it super well and stuff, but I imagine he has more contact with Irene due to her being in Slytherin.
