It’s quite unusual for a caster's patronus to be their favourite animal, but very possible that it will take the shape of a creature they’ve never before seen or heard of. — Amy

HEARD AROUND TOWN:
Several Spring Sightings
Written by Malinda Junkett

Have the Daphnels had a dispute with their recently deceased relative, and banished him from their house? Mr. Daphnel’s ghost been lurking about town in odd places lately — what business does he have back by the Hog’s Head? We wouldn't be caught dead there.

It seems to be that the Potts sisters are finally in bloom... Miss Dahlia Potts clearly has both a sweet tooth and an eye on married life, and I hear she’s not the only one in the family looking to the latter! Shame about the spinster, though — prickly by name, prickly by nature?

Is there a new Veela in town? They say she’s just French, but red hair never looked so good... And what on earth has brought her to Hogsmeade?

Big news! Puddlemere United quidditch star Esteban Zavala might have mentioned the word marriage... it’s a real pity a career in quidditch doesn't pay, because we would marry him for his face any day.

Did you hear Mr. Lionel Lupin is courting at last? He must have had a critical eye, to have waited so long — but he has finally chosen Miss Cecilia Bulstrode. The Bulstrodes better have no dreadful secrets, for the Head of Investigation is bound to unearth them sooner or later. Will the engagement be a smooth one? We’ll see.

We know that healing is a demanding profession, but there’s really no need for Hogsmeade’s healers to run themselves ragged. Some of them seem to be there at all hours! Don’t you have a family to go home to, Mr. Fisk?

What a shock! Mr. Berkwood, the young muggleborn potioneer, has been spotted out of his laboratory and in society for once! How sensible of him, to start looking for a wife early. (Other young men ought to take a swig from his vial, and start thinking of settling down before they start losing their hair.)

Monsieur Maxime looked a little tired at the Twillbright ball — I wonder why? Too much hard work at the Ministry... or too much fun at parties?
