More Mystery in the Black Lake
Ministry launches joint venture to Investigate mysterious happenings in the lake
Following the watery disappearance of Mister Andrew and William Makepeace and their deckhand Arthur, the ministry has announced the creation of a joint taskforce between the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
The wreck of The Little Tern, the boat registered to Mister Makepeace was found dashed to pieces on the lakes margins. While no bodies have been recovered it is not expected that there will be any survivors. The monster responsible for the wreck is likely to have eaten the unfortunate crew, and if not the depth of the lake, and the other creatures residing in it's depths make make the recovery of the bodies next to impossible.
Mister Murdock Greyback of the DMLE has said "The Ministry is treating this matter with all seriousness, the families of Misters Andrew and William Makepeace and their crew deserve the truth of what happened to their loved ones and for the safety of all of the residents of Hogsmeade the ministry intends to find and deal with the threat of the safety of the village."
While no more people have disappeared on the lake there have been reports of domestic farm animals vanishing all along its shores. Residents are once again reminded to avoid the lake shore and keep all animals and small children away from the water. While there is no hope of recovering the crew of The Little Tern alive, a body rescue operation is still underway and any member of the public encountering evidence of the fate of the vessel, including the mortal remains of the crew should contact the ministry at once and stay at a distance from the site.
