Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

So I have been noodling on this for a minute - in the late 1800s, suffrage movements in Britain were primarily focused on getting signatures to submit to parliament and otherwise making some trouble, and I think it would be fun to have a ladies' club working on / talking about / making noise re: suffrage.
In my heart this is a new organization, and hasn't officially been named yet. My entrant is Zelda. I wanted to see if other folks were interested and if we could start having threads where The Women talk about suffrage, and working on the organizational aspects of a movement until they become more of an official organization. (I... famously love slow burn plots so that might be why.)
Really open to any women, but they'd probably have discussions about anyone of low reputation, and I would be interested if the issue of classism (ex. property) or blood purity came up.

Jules! Who would throw hands if someone tried to imply only pureblood/landed women should be able to vote Also she works at the Minister's office so, you know. Could be fun.
Topaz Urquart is also sympathetic to the cause but would actively avoid it as she would probably think her involvement would give it a bad name.
Would they/she allow older students to attend meetings/events when home such as summer and winter breaks? Our would the be some kind of age requirement?
Dammit now that I think of it, Amelia Evans would be into this, but I'll wait and see what happens there. Also Irene Crawley , Mabel and Rowan Yaxley are in.
Also Meredith Edgecombe as part of the revs is down and would gladly provide catering for meetings
Eee I was wondering about something like this awhile ago! So yes would love to get Ida involved somehow <3
Same Q as above on if there are age limits, though I'd say Ida is go-getter enough she might try to build a Hogwarts-to-debutante pipeline of members if given the opportunity. x)
She has a lot of resentment to her dad and brother that basically lord over her life by pushing her out as a wage owner in their family business/don't want her to have a career/just go get married already. So she's pretty invested in women's rights and autonomy from that standpoint.
I don't think they would have formal age requirements!! My soft plan is to have a meeting-or-something coincide with the Feb. Hogsmeade weekend if that sounds good? Calla PottsIda Chang
Once I actually finish creating Kezia Bobbin, she'd be totally into this. So, count me in for the future!
Billie isn't yet old enough for Hogsmeade weekends, but know she's there in spirit throwing her fist in the air and probably wishing she could help Gus be a menace.

Elizabeth cardew would def be involved.
For some drama - Rose Hart would give cash, and they can have a debate between accepting the cash and it's contentious source. She is a business woman with a dog in the fight and only the truly scandalous would acknowledge that they know why she is a contentious personage. Her turning up to a fraught meeting - her business is London which would give them a polite reason to reject her if they wanted to
Can I also nominate Porphyria Dempsey - to take the role of Mary Maloney, she was an Irish suffragist who followed Churchill around and rang a bell everytime he tried to speak - seems fitting that another Irish woman should follow Ross around and annoy him every time he tries to as well! she got a fine for doing so - so it wouldn't be rep wrecking

So I've come to the realization that all of my ladies who would be involved are pretty much the type to support this but not be actively involved. Basically, Caroline Darrow, @"Dahlia Potts", and @"Marie-Louise Skovgaard" would all go to meetings if they were dragged. So if Zelda Darrow were to drag Caroline she might attend, although I'm sure Evander would hate that which is basically her biggest hesitation in joining in anyway.
