M/UCAB | REP 3+ | ART SHOW

What: Interactive Art Exhibit
Who: Open to anyone who purchases a ticket.
Cost: Yes; tickets affordable for MC and are single-entry, meaning if you leave the event you would have to purchase another to return.
Where: Special exhibit rooms at the Museum of Magical Miscellany
Why: #art
When: July 2nd-4th

Three rooms with three different settings allow attendees to "enter" each of three expansive landscape paintings, which are displayed in the lobby. The walls are painted and illusion magic is used to set the scene, while magical sculptures of people or animals move throughout. Animals may make noise but the statue people will not speak, though they may interact with attendees nonverbally.

The three scenes are:
- a fantasy dungeon in which adventurers attempt to liberate a hoarde of treasure from a group of (rather offensively primitive-looking) goblins, with some skeletons & dangerous creatures lurking in the background

- a "castle in the clouds" scene where godlike youths play games with various weather effects

- a Roman gladiator scene where Muggle warriors battle a chimera surrounded by a cheering crowd.

The idea is that attendees will mostly wander through and observe from various angles, not participate - but if you insert yourself into the middle of the scene things may well get out of hand. ;)

U/MCPB | REP 7+ | BALL

What: Summer Fancy Dress Ball
Who: Hosted by Zandra Malfoy for eligible purebloods, by invitation — notably discluded are the Prewetts, Selwyns, and Parkinsons.
Cost: No
Where: The Malfoy cottage in Cumbria
Why: The Season, plus fancy dress balls are fun. Also an effort to get her children married off
When: July 24

Zandra Malfoy has decided that a fancy dress ball is much needed. Dress need not be in a muggle fashion, and magical beasts are more than encouraged — though the phoenix's splendor is requested to be skipped.

Decor is rather standard, if variable — some of it seems like it may be a few decades old, some centuries old. There is access to the gardens, though guests who enter in pairs may be shadowed by footmen to prevent scandal. Standard hors d'oeuvres and champagne are served and watched like a hawk by the staff to prevent Amortentia meddling.

Around midnight there is to be a display of magical fireworks.

UC/MC | REP 7+ | WEDDING

What: The Wedding of Valerian Macnair & Tatiana Lestrange
Who:

The Wedding: The Macnair family, Tiberius Lestrange/Antigone Lestrange, Ingrid Rowle, and Liberty Gore.
The Reception: The various Lestrange and née Lestrange branches, UCPB/some MCPB families in good standing with the family (i.e. no Macmillans, probably), and various friends of the bride and groom. No one likely to cause scandal (sorry Arthur, Valerian tried!). If you have any questions about whether your character would be invited or not, don't be afraid to ask!

Cost: N/A
Where: The family estate in Inverness-shire.
Why: Valerian decided he'd rather take a literal bullet than let Charles Macmillan win, and somehow it worked #yolo
When: July 7th
A Very Boring Generic Wedding, because Tatiana does not want any sort of spectacle and Valerian is more invested in being married than getting married and thus took no time to add his gothic flair to everything. The wedding will take place on the front lawn, while the reception will be held indoors in the ballroom. Explore at your own risk.

ACAB | REP ANY | PARADE

What: Bastille Dag
Who: Atlantis gentleman's club handled the logistics on the door and advertising. Open to anyone.
Cost: Yes, 1k per travel to and from. You can probably sweet talk your way out of this if you want, the fee collectors are mostly there as a stopgap so Muggles don't wander through the door on the French end.
Where: Paris, France
Why: Vive la Révolution
When: 14 July 1891

Beginning at dawn and ending in the early morning hours of the following day, a door in Diagon Alley will take anyone who wants to go directly to an alleyway in Paris, France. In Paris one can enjoy the traditional military parade, fireworks, or any variety of concerts, balls, etc.

U/MCAB | REP 3+ | GARDEN SHOW

What: Art of Gardening Exhibition
Who: It's hosted by an NPC and for whoever buys a ticket. =P
Cost: Yes, affordable for MC
Where: Wales because why not. The grounds of some rich dudes' house.
Why: I watched this extreme topiary show and man it was wild.
When: July 25 - July 31

Guests may arrive by one of three methods: floo, portkey, or carriage (flying or otherwise); each deposits in a different place but after paying their entry fee guests will be taken through a magical door to the central pavilion. The pavilion serves as an area for guests to mingle and also offers the tame kind of refreshments (lemonade and finger sandwiches, not cocktails or anything crazy). From the pavilion guests can either choose to wander the grounds on foot or may rent, at some small additional price, horses to ride or carriages. The carriages go on set routes but the horses you can meander about with as you please.

The grounds are littered with enormous topiary sculptures, some of which are stationary and some of which are magically animated. These include a menagerie of hedge animals, dresses made of various colorful flowers, buildings, sculpture, etc. There are several hedge mazes available - one "junior" level which is only four and a half feet tall, one "ladies" maze which is relatively easy and full of beautiful flowers to look at, and one regular maze with lots of twists and turns. Anyone can go into any maze, we just named them that way for period sexism.

Let your imagination run wild with what you can find in the grounds, idgaf <3

MC/UCAB| REP 7+ | Garden Party

What: Rural Virtues Garden Party
Who: Hosted by Mrs Fedorov, an English woman, who was formerly married to a Russian who is super into cottagecore
UC and MC reasonably respectables.
Cost: N/A
Where: Fedorov's country home, got to via fluu or portkey from her London home.
Why: It's too hot in the city, and her folly has lots of lovely strawberries
When: 23rd July

People are invited to basically fancy dress as peasantry, and go strawberry picking for the afternoon, while being plied with cold drinks and cream pastries. The sort of thing Marie Antoinette was (wrongly) believed to have been into.

MCAB/UCAB | REP 5+ | WEDDING & RECEPTION GARDEN PARTY

What: Wedding of @"Hope Crawford" & Samuel St.John-Black
Who: Hope and Samuels friends & family are invited to the wedding itself.
The reception is open to decently reputable middle and upper class folks of society. If your character is a working class friend of Hopes then she also invited you.
Cost: N/A
Where: Crawford Residence in Wellingtonshire
Why: Hope and Samuel are getting hitched.
When: July 21, 1891

The wedding and reception is tasteful and relatively suiting for an upper class couple. The florals consisting of yellow sunflowers and white roses were done by @"Daffodil Potts", one of Hope's dearest friends. The thematic colours of the event in general are yellow and white. After the wedding itself, the garden of the Crawford residence will be opened up for food, drinks and mingling.

UC/MCAB | REP 4+ | CHARITY EVENT

Cost: Entry is free if you bring donations, but tickets are being sold for 3s.
Where: Padmore Park
Why: Fundraising for WC students who might not be able to afford the quality supplies needed for school.
When: July 31st

The perimeter of the event will be magically roped off to prevent people from entering who do not pay or donate supplies. There is a booth at the only opening/exit, where tickets can be purchased or donations can be dropped off.

Games:  Enchanted game of croquet primarily intended for children and student-aged characters, though adults may take over if nobody is playing at the time. There is also ring toss and a tent with a munch of memory/card games where prizes can be won.

Event sponsors: Companies sponsoring the event may set up their own tents, but they must donate 25% of profits to the charity.

Scholarship: WC students who have entered their name in the two weeks prior in the town square will be entered into a lottery for a scholarship that pays for the entirety of their school supplies for the year. The drawing will be done at the event, and entrants are welcome to attend with their lottery ticket serving as their entry ticket.
