My dear Evelyn,

It seems difficult to believe that, already, it is February and that, in a few short months, our girls shall make our debut into society. While I know that Ruby leans away from the life of a debutante (for which I cannot fault her, given the hand she has been dealt), I think it important that she partake in the coming out ball that Hogwarts offers annually—a sense of closure that neither of her sisters received.

I am, however, woefully ignorant of the finer details that such participation entails.

It is my ardent hope that you shall take pity on your dear brother and, inasmuch as she will allow, take Ruby under your wing as she enters this new stage of her life. Her life has already been irrevocably altered by the events of the past few years; I should hate for my ineptitude to deprive her of further normalcy.

— My dear Balt —It would be my honor to aid Ruby in partaking in the season. Her circumstances are certainly not the worst to work with, when dealing with the social scene.

Have you discussed the situation with her? More importantly, has she been fitted for a dress recently? Hogsmeade weekends and Easter break will help of course, but the more time a shop has for any alterations, the better. Especially as the season grows closer.

I would prefer to take her to Maison Bellerose, if I may. The owner has shown a public stance of acceptance and welcome towards half-breeds, and we may only hope that this effort of good will extends to a family with a known werewolf.
