JULIUS SCRIMGEOUR

b. 1862 | UCPB | Open House | Mid-Level Ministry | Suggested PB: Richard Madden

The brother of Bella Scrimgeour. The eldest child in his family, Julius always looked up to his father and hoped to become just like him. He applied to the auror training program after graduating Hogwarts, and would eventually end up the investigative team. Amicable by nature, he has no reservations about welcoming his long-lost sister back into their family, and was the only one Bella believed was truly kind. After his father was arrested for assaulting his sister, Julius backed down from the investigation. His father was eventually sent to the asylum, where he would grow weaker and eventually die. Whether he stayed in the Dept. MLE following his family's social ruin is up to the player. His reputation is currently a 4.

The Princess

The Princess is a 18-26 year old girl from a powerful family (either UC or MC-with-connections); she can be any blood status. She and Ben developed some sort of relationship in spring/summer of 1887, which lead to him getting in trouble with her family. His older brother decided it would be best to send him off to Canada for a few months while things cooled down, and he returned in the beginning of 1888.

What exactly their relationship was like prior to Canada is open; the inciting incident that got him sent to Canada is open; what interactions they've had since then are open; what they do next is open. I'm really just looking for someone who is open to drama moving forward and willing to retcon a little baggage into their past. Depending on your preference we can thread out their previous interactions in past threads or just talk them over before moving forward.

Existing characters strongly encouraged! New characters with existing connections (friends, family, etc, etc) also super welcome. I'd also not turn down a totally new, blank slate sort of girl, but having other people to get involved is just much more fun, so if you want to make her I'd encourage you to plug her into an existing family. ;) ;)

#MostLikelyToBeADebutante. Of the Fudges, Irene is the most likely to eschew a middle class lifestyle and try to marry up, though her ambition is tempered by her kind heart and loyal nature.  She and Holliday are affectionate but not close, and a part of her that she would never admit to is afraid that her sister’s friendship with Topaz Urquart will cause Irene problems herself. The suggested PB is Malina Weissman with alternatives to be brunette or dark blonde-haired. She is unsure what to make of her father’s present status, but tries to be optimistic about it—at least in his presence.

IDRIS ROSS

The eldest child to the Minister of Magic and his wife, Idris has always had the sense inherent in being Roslyn's child but the outgoing nature necessary to thrive in a large extended family like the Fisks. His feelings on his father's election are up to you, as are his feelings about going off to Hogwarts in the coming autumn! The suggested PB is Lonnie Chavis. He is mixed race, with a black father and a white mother.

SUNDAY FUDGE

B. 1878 | MCHB | TBA | INCOMING FIRST YEAR (’89)

The youngest of the Fudge brood, Sunday has always been a lighthearted and resilient girl who has spent all the life she can remember living at the resort. Hogwarts is a distant idea to the young witch, who loves the ocean and is reluctant to leave it in the autumn. She writes to her siblings throughout the year, but it's anyone's guess if her stories are true or fabricated—she's got quite the imagination! The suggested PB is Eva Ariel Binder.

VESTA BONES

Debutante in the making! Vesta is a sixth year in any house who is the most conservative of all her family and is very much looking forward to being a debutante. She's sweet-natured, though whether this is a cover is up to the player - she certainly appears as such to her family at any rate. She is blessed with beauty rather than brains but unlike her older sister has an instinctive knowledge of how to be in company and as such is rarely prone to awkwardness. She often feels like her family are joking at her expense and resents them for it.

THE SCRIBE

b. 1861 -1871 | WCAB | SCRIBE

The scribe was hired shortly before the Christmas season of 1887, as Herbert realized he would need a right-and-left-hand man to continue 'living' his life the way he wants. He should have had 3-5 years at Hogwarts and must have taken CoMC. Obviously literacy is a must, but I headcanon that the scribe's artistic talents are so woeful that it makes Herbert either dramatically encouraging or dramatically morose xD He should have a reputation of 7+ and be fully human so as not to alienate the guests. If Herbert were to describe him, he would use words such as "reliable", "occasionally a bit frantic", and "well-meaning". Minor wandwork is required of the position. Other than the aforementioned, the character is quite flexible!

As to the job itself, the scribe lives at the Sanditon—a small bedroom was added off of Herbert's study in the family home early in '88 to accommodate him. In addition to room and board, the position is pay level 5, allowing the scribe to build up a nice little nest egg. When advertised, the job description descussed some international travel and general assistance running the resort as well as helping Herbert to write The Next Great Creature Text. Upon his arrival at the Sanditon, the scribe promptly realized that it also includes "putting things on shelves", "reorganizing a stamp collection", and "anything else Herbert lacks the hands for"—not all he had dreamed of, but hey, it pays well.

Very much the outsider of the family Jemima is mocked and belittled at every opportunity by both her parents and her siblings and as such it comes as little surprise that she spends as much time outside the family home as possible. Having no reason to work for a living - her parents think she's a disappointment but they would never see a daughter of theirs work - she instead devotes herself to any and all worthy causes. Enoch and Griselda think she's ridiculous. She could well be something to do with the Revs and I love her. Someone create her.

EVALINA ROSIER

b. 1844 | UCPB | Slytherin | Socialite | Suggested PB: Kate Fleetwood

...Because his wife totally is. On the surface Evalina is an ideal society wife. Underneath she is hateful, angry, thwarted in her ambitions, cruel and very possibly planning to murder her husband. Self-disciplined, sensuous and sharp, there isn’t a single thing she isn’t at least partially knowledgeable about and Enoch and Griselda defer to her in most things. She was married young enough that she had little by way of formal education but she had made up for this by years of ignoring her husband in favour of expanding her personal library to the point that it rivals even that of Hogwarts these days. Only her children are allowed in. If someone takes her there is a mini-plot with Elladora Black on the cards!

KING LUKESON

Despite being the last son of the Lukeson family, King has always felt pressure to do great things with his life. Not that his parents ever made him feel like this. The pressure mainly comes from being named King, as if that automatically means that greatness is expected. It doesn't help that he and Jolie witnessed the deaths of their uncle and brother. He tends to look up to Ace, as well as having an urge to look out for Sybille since she has been the youngest sibling until Rosie came along last year. He is either a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

Third of last daughter to the family does not mean that she wasn't spoiled dearly by her parents. This might have gone to her head a bit, but she is still a very sweet girl. Tending to follow Ace around like a puppy, they have a nice sibling bond, and she looks up to him a lot.

Though her house is open, she was not sorted into Ravenclaw, which greatly upset her. Possibly the most effected by the deaths that have happened around her (including also being a witness to the horrible deaths of her uncle and brother), this has shaken her greatly. She gets along with most of her siblings, though finding Sybille a bit odd and preferring to avoid her, but she is very close to her cousin Bellerose Rey. Her name is pronounced zho-LEE.

The latter option is one that tends to get on Sun's nerves. Due to these interests, she loves to learn about the auror program as well as anything that she can find on werewolves. This may or may not include bugging known family members of werewolves if she gets the chance. Her house is Gryffindor.

ARTEMIS FAIRCHILD

Her family is one of tragedy. Loosing a father and then both brothers, it changed the girl forever. Sadness has followed her following these losses, especially for her 'twin'. Though this is only known to her and her mother, her twin was never actually her twin. Born to their aunt out of wedlock, the woman died and the family covered the unmarried birth up and claimed that Artemis and Apollo were twins in order to save face. This story fit due to their days apart in age and the fact that their family was away on holiday for the pregnancies and births.

A proud Ravenclaw, this was a trait that she and Apollo had shared. She had found out the truth of their blood relation during the summer of '87 and hadn't come to terms with it until the death of Apollo on New Years of '88. For more detail, see old!Artemis.

Unlike Luce, Stella is a bit more of a wild card when it comes to what is expected of a woman. While Luce has considered finding a respectable lady-like occupation, Stella has set her eyes on more adventurous lines of work. She is either in Slytherin or Gryffindor. She may or may not be a bit bitter that their father clearly has a favorite.

AARON ASTEROID

Medium Priority Character
He and his wife have been best friends since their first year. Both sorted into Slytherin, it was easy to spend time together and truly bond. It helps that Aaron has a weird and spacy last name and Mars has a weird and spacy first name.

Near the end of their years at Hogwarts, Aaron found out that Mars was a lesbian. Rather than rejecting her and their friendship, he is quite supportive. This eventually lead to them deciding to get married in 1887, about a year after they graduated. They later opened their antique store. Mars has yet to have a child, leading to questions regarding their marriage.

He is less reluctant than his wife to attend church, but does so more out of curiosity than believing. Not that he would say that to his in-laws.

CAMILLA ZABINI

Camilla was born on a Saturday (Ama), and named in part for her father (Cosmina). The sibling closest in age to Bellona, Camilla has always been the more outspoken and rambunctious of the two, though favours her father’s more conservative values. She grows increasingly frustrated by the fact that the men she wants don’t want her (or at least, their families don’t) and often clashes with her father over the lavish (and expensive) events she hosts in their London home.  Whether or not she secretly remains in contact with her mother is up to you.

PB is open, but should reflect her mixed heritage; pictured is Logan Browning. She is not an animagus, insisting she doesn’t care for the idea but secretly too frightened to try. Reputation of 7.

GRETCHEN LESTRANGE

The younger sister of Frida Lestrange. Quiet and cunning, Gretchen's focus has always been on her family—and more importantly, her family's legacy. Like most of her family members, Gretchen has a strong will and fiery temper, but has managed it better than some. These qualities saw her sorted into Slytherin, where she found no trouble making friends. She and Meta often feud, and she looks down on Frida as the "weaker" member of the family. Since their father's death, she and her sisters have lived with their Uncle Priam. She could potentially be a prefect. Her reputation is a 10.

The eldest son of Freya Trelawney. At the time of his birth he already has three older sisters, all as illegitimate as he is, and while the family never dwell on it too much he is a full sibling to Sarah. (Whether they are aware of this is up to the player and MJ to hash out!) Whether he went to Hogwarts and how many years he finished if he did attend is entirely up to the player as is his personality and occupation. The only thing I would strongly prefer is if he retains a strong connection with his sisters regardless of where life has taken him. Romance-wise he’s probably too young to support a wife but is primed for disastrous forays into love with either gender because it’s just what the Trelawneys do at this point.

Tig's Bitches

The Alpha Beta

While at school, The Beta was the leader of the group although the group was originally The Beta and The Omega before Tig latched on in third year. An upper class pureblood, she is the epitome of a spoiled little rich girl. She attended Hogwarts between 1878 - 1884 and was a Slytherin. Her parents withdrew her from school in 1884 to enroll her instead at PSYR. She is perfectly respectable and hasn't been involved in any permanently damaging scandals. With her absence from her friends' final year at Hogwarts and Tig's marriage shortly thereafter, the power dynamic started to shift. In a matter of months Tig managed to assert herself as the new leader with little to no challenge from The Beta. The Omega, on the other hand was privately resentful of this change. More on that later. Tig and The Beta have always been slightly closer and in recent years Tig has become an increasingly bad influence to which the Beta is blissfully unaware. She looks up to Tig more than is perhaps healthy and is easily influenced.

The Omega

The Omega has suffered from emotional whiplash at the hands of Tig and The Beta since their schooldays. Often she suspects she's the third wheel but before she can pluck up enough courage to voice her discontent, Tig and The Beta throw her a metaphorical bone and her concerns are forgotten for a while. The Omega can be either upper class or middle class and preferably a half-blood. She attended Hogwarts between 1878 - 1885 and was also a Slytherin. She is also scandal free, publicly at least. She is incredibly insecure but deep, deep down she does have a backbone and isn't a total doormat. Morally she's flexible, although not quite so much as The Beta. A part of her suspects she's in a toxic friendship but as of yet she hasn't come to fully realize this. That said The Omega is still an asshole, she just looks a bit better next to Tig and The Beta. She'd probably be a lot less dickish were she not friends with them though. She prefers The Beta to Tig and misses the days of The Beta's leadership and of being closer to her than Tig was, she harbors some subconscious resentment towards Tig for ruining the whole dynamic.

Tig has ~plans~ and needs her minions best friends to get involved. Their marital statuses are open although neither should have married prior to 1886.
N.B. Reasonable activity is needed from these characters - a few posts a month at least but I'm hoping that'll be pretty easy once I get the ball rolling. I'm looking for a specific sort of dynamic as a similar situation existed for Tig before and had an impact on her as a character so please hit me up (Ursula Black) first if you're interested!

The most affable of the quartet, the firstborn Hufflepuff is quite content to do focus on learning the investment ropes from his father, though may be recently retired from professional quidditch. He is the only one with whom Julius’ relationship remains unchanged, though his efforts at making peace between Julius and the Slytherin have been an utter failure thus far. He likely comes from a Sacred Twenty-Eight family. The Hufflepuff is a bachelor. PB is wide open, but pictured is Kit Harington.

Julius’ closest friend growing up, and the one swiftest to cut him after the Scrimgeour family drama. The Slytherin has always been ambitious and was the de facto leader of their group growing up (think the James to Julius’ Sirius), though this dynamic levelled out as the boys grew into men. His ultimate goal is to become—and remain—Minister of Magic. He likely comes from a Sacred Twenty-Eight family, though his birth order is flexible. He might be married or engaged, but not betrothed. The oldest and by far the most sensible of Annabelle’s children Rosamund is an overachiever and, like her mother before her, much more interested in her occupation than being a debutante. Unlike her mother she was not betrothed so upon her graduation she immediately sought an internship at St. Mungo’s and has been there ever since. She is absolutely hurlable, has never quite recovered from her father’s unexpected death and desperately wants to escape from her mother’s shadow.

VICTORIUS ZABINI

B. 1854 | UCHB | NOT HUFFLEPUFF | MINISTRY OCCUPATION

The eldest of the Zabini children, and the one to most favour his mother’s looks, Victorius was born on a Friday (Kofi) and named in part for his paternal great-grandfather (Algernon). Always the sort to look before leaping, he kept his nose clean throughout his time at Hogwarts and had little trouble finding a job at the Ministry of Magic—though he didn’t need to at the time, he is privately glad to have something to fall back on, should his father disinherit him. He married a woman of his father’s choosing on her 19th birthday in 1878; the two have produced at least one child, though its status is up to you. Whether or not he secretly remains in contact with his mother is up to you.
