My dear Elsie,

You will, I hope, pardon me for sitting on this news for two days. Selfishly, I wished to keep it to myself, to treasure it, to, rather, adjust to it before sharing it with the world. I can however assure you that you are the first person to whom I myself have told this: it is official that I am to be Mrs. Baxter Keene!

Mr. Keene arrived Sunday at my door, insisting he had something important to discuss with me. Of course I let him in and, given my feelings towards him, did dare to hope, but, knowing Mr. Keene as I do, had no expectations of him. How overjoyed I was when finally he said the words I had so yearned to hear!

I shall, I think, not tell the children until the week-end; while they are quite fond of Mr. Keene, a new toy would no doubt soften the blow of change—Jameson, in particular, has had so much of it in his short life that only the prospect of my utterly divine happiness would prompt me to foist it upon him again.

Affectionately,

Odira

Prudence,

I hope that you are doing well in your studies. An education, as I am certain I have told you and as I suspect that our elder sister might disagree, is a young lady's greatest asset, and must be cultivated at any stakes. To that end, I shall keep this note brief, as I do not wish to distract you from them.

I write to tell you that I am to be married to Mr. Baxter Keene, the director of Hogsmeade Hospital. I could not be happier to share this news! There is no date set as of yet, but I shall write to you again once details have been ironed out.

Your sister,

Odira

Calliope,

Mr. Baxter Keene, director of Hogsmeade Hospital, has asked me to be his wife and I have accepted with great enthusiasm. I hope that you will join me in celebrating this good news. No date has been set, but be assured that I will keep you informed.

Your sister,

Odira

Dear Loretta,

I should much rather share this news in person, but I am busy indeed at the library this week, and should so hate to have you here elsewhere that I am to marry Mr. Baxter Keene. I cannot adequately express in writing how elated I am to write those words, so I fear that you shall have to use your imagination.

I hope to see you soon!

Your sister,

Odira

Odira,
What wondrous news! Married again. It would be inadequate to merely offer my hope that it proceeds better than your last; but I am sure you and Mr. Keene, with his healer's disposition, will be delightfully happy together. I imagine he will be your every remedy, and you his perfect patient — and perhaps your life will no longer always be in such dire need of mending!

Dearest Odira,
As words could not express your elation, it is much the same when it comes to my happiness for you. When your schedule allows, I would adore coming by for tea to celebrate your upcoming nuptials.

Affectionately,
— Loretta Browne —
