Miss Escher,
It is my hope that you have had a pleasant summer thus far, and I shall allow you to enjoy as much of it as possible by cutting straight to the chase.
As I am sure you know, [Student] assisted me in the previous two terms as a junior creature keeper of sorts. Following their graduation, however, I find myself once again without assistance. Now that I have gotten my feet wet at Hogwarts, gotten to know the students, I thought it would be easiest to select a student directly, rather than interview for the role.
You have proved to be a very deft hand with creatures of all sorts. It would not be an ultruistic post—there is reasonable pay provided, and it would not take up so much of your time that your studies would suffer. I hope you consider my offer, and will be delighted indeed if you accept.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
Professor N. Brierley
