Canon character variation?
#1
Hello!

I am interested in Ariana Dumbledore, but of course in canon she remained a shut-in until the day of her death and that is. NOT a fantastic model for a character? I am wondering if there would be space to vary her canon and have her emerge from her seclusion. I expect her to be odd, mal-adjusted, fragile and kind of mad. Like I'm not asking for her to have a good reputation, or even really function, I'm just asking if she needs to be a total shut-in or if I can take her out in public?

If anyone has watched House of the Dragon, think Helaena?

Speaking as someone with a canon character on a somewhat au path (Theseus and Newt Scamander will be half brothers), we are an au board and deviation is typically fine! I'm sure staff will have to final guidance, but that's my experience!

Essentially what Bee said! Especially given the inherent unreliable narrator nature of 'Dumbledore is the way he is' and 100+ years pass between Charming and HP, this is the vibe.
