I get Seneca muse from... Problematic things xD

Some examples:
- I watched a documentary series called Dirty Money and there was an episode on Jared Kushner and how his business exploits people who rent his properties and how he's pretty much a terrible person.

There was a bit on how he and Ivanka Trump were made for each other and I went like "YES, someone needs to play the Kushner to Seneca's Ivanka clearly."

--- I was reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand because I wanted to see what the super polarised views were about. The book can be described as the Bible of anarchocspitalists basically.

The main characters who are good guys are all Too Perfect business owners who are also clearly Capricorns AF and keep going on how they're hard working and perfect while the evil socialists try to exploit their hard work.

Ayn Rand also had this notion on Rational Self interest which basically says that you should be selfish and that is the most noble act you can do.

This gives me so much Seneca muse. She's kinda like Dagny Whatsherface from the book. Hell, Atlas Shrugged would be her favourite book probably lol.

There's also a guy in the book who is a psychopath workaholic with a steel mine business and he always has to make it clear that he is SelFiSh and only cafes about MonEy not FeElIngS and I was telling Lynn how he's basically Tiberius.

So yeah.

Sometimes I hyperfixate on certain things in HP canon and you can see them come up repeatedly with my characters, like my best example is pocketwatches, because I love the thing where people are given them when they turn 17 and they're often a big family heirloom. They're most ~present in Cash's whole deal, but I LOVE A GOOD POCKETWATCH BIT. Especially because a time metaphor?? Love <3

You know whenever there are characters hanging around anywhere in muggle London? My brain likes to supply specific places in London as backdrop to the scene - but not, like consciously or with any geographical logic, mostly just "places I can picture well" with no regard for the details of your thread xD

e.g.
me: reading the Cash/Ford thread where they are sitting on a bench in a park somewhere
my brain: has pictured the specific bench
me: mj why
me: and that's barely even a park
my brain: welp, don't care, can't unsee it now

This is a delightful confession, but initially I read this as though it was a spontaneous thought you had directed at Cash/Ford which makes it even more fun xD "boys honestly, do better! That's barely a park!"

I find Minty’s nickname very silly and I only registered her with it because Araminta Scrimgeour was already taken and I thought I might as well go with that. I could easily ask for her name to be changed to her actual name, but now I think it’s fun and amusing for her to stay as Minty Scrimgeour until she’s married, at which point I’ll go for Araminta and her husband’s surname.

Going off of this, every few months I become terrified that all my female characters are just slightly different variations of each other and I have to resist the urge to delete ½ of them and squish them into one character. :P The fact that my character gender ratios are horribly skewed doesn't help.

I just realized that I spell endeavour the British way but I only realized it cause my computer told me it was wrong. And that led me to think about what I would do if someone asked me why I spell things the British way and I feel like my response would just have to be "I talk to British people a lot." even though talking wouldn't translate to me spelling things differently.

I have no mental image for the phrase "half-lidded." Or rather, when I try to picture it, it looks like like a melodramatic meme version of an expression instead of a thing real people would do, and since it normally shows up in ship threads I'm pretty sure that's not the intent xD

On a map of muggle London (so...y'know, just London) I have pinpointed where all my London people live more or less to the actual house on street view. Let me tell you that Harriet's view is considerably better than Marlena's.

Not on charming but rp related and kinda lengthy because this happened just today and I'm high off of it so:

I absolutely live for that feeling when you know your writing is causing emotions in the other writer.

And also lingering looks, touches, not even a kiss type of intimate things in threads are just *chefs kiss*.

Case in point, on another site I have a character who is in a mutual pining situation but the two boys can't be together just yet due to the other (not mine) having a girlfriend that he can't figure out how to break up with because #teenager. My boy is nice and Proper so they have not done anything at all beyond longing looks, lingering touches, all that nice stuff.

I wrote a little post today where they're in the same party but not interacting just yet because my boy avoids the other when his girlfriend is around due to how much it hurts to witness. But lingering looks present. *sunglasses emoji*

The reaction I got was: kit this is torture
Me: ahahaha good. Excellent.

So y'know how you have certain vague plot directions in mind for a character when you make them? Like maybe they don't have a plot but you at least have ideas for directions they might go, the types of threads you want to have, etc etc?

Sometimes these don't involve any kind of romance for me (or at least not any kind of requited romance) and then when I'm in a thread with someone and their post is like "[My character] couldn't help but notice [Lynn's character] had [some attractive quality]" I'm like nOoOoOoO they're not attractive!! stop that!!!1!

And then I go re-read their appearance section to see if there's anywhere I could be less ambiguous about it in the future >.>

I google the timezones of some of my writing partners because sometimes I will plan to take a little nappynap so I can be awake to rp with them. Like. Not even rapid-fire sometimes. Sometimes they aren't even actively online but going about their work day. For some reason, I just like to know you're awake over there when I'm posting to you. Like an online version of "we are in the same room, spending time together but doing our own activity and not really speaking."

Some of what my google auto supplies because I search them up so often is "what time is it in halifax" (for kayte and this charming weekend), "what time is it in ireland" for dante, "what time is it in australia" for jen and "what time is it in china" for another rp buddy. xD Like I know, they probably have time zones but it at least gives me a vague "it is work time for them" or "theyre probably sleeping, leave those poor people alone, kit".

Not you looking and seeing me awake at like 2am and 4am and not online at normal human times I'm so sorry xD
That being said you can bother me at any time because if I'm not up, I'll see it when I am.

It's the same for me, actually. #teamweirdsleep I tend to have insomnia even when I don't take a nap so sometimes I am on here at like... 2-6am my time. xD

Charming weekends get scheduled on our family calendar and planned into our weekends so I can post. My husband regularly checks with me over the weekend to see if I need to hop on a computer to post.
