Charming Confessions 2.0 - Bella Scrimgeour - March 28, 2018

If you have no clue what this is, it's basically making little confessions about Charming-related, HP-related, roleplaying-related things that other people might not know about.

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Acacia Darlington - July 23, 2018

OK, so I had a dream right before I woke up. I had 'woken up' and looked at Charming on my phone. I see that Sweetie's set has been made, but its all orange and pink. It's pretty, but not her thing. So I'm just so flustered like "What do I do? Should I ask MJ to change it? I don't want her to feel bad." And then I woke up all flustered.

I've been really excited to see MJ's set for Sweetie, and I guess my brain wanted to weird me out to wake me up or something?

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Elsie Kirke - July 23, 2018

I low key write starters in my head while trying to fall asleep at night. I have half a Febric starter all planned out in my head. XD

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Fortuna Bixby - July 23, 2018

Every time I take a long shower while kiddos are sleeping, I get random character ideas. They'll be the death of me.

Low-key do starters in my head when I can't sleep, too. Febric included. #twinning

Low-key write posts in my head while I'm driving

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Flora Mulciber - July 25, 2018

Confession: I feel like signing up with a character for PW is condemning them to a month of muselessness. It never seems that way but I always end up posting with the characters I didn't sign up with.

The CYOA confessions you didn't want:

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Ophelia Devine - August 23, 2018

On the note of people who write posts in their head when they're doing unrelated things... I don't so much write posts in my head (occasionally but tbh if I'm really that into it I'll probably just stop whatever I'm doing and go get my computer and write it for real) but I do sketch out plotlines. Sometimes for developments that haven't happened yet.

The Zelfred baby/no-baby issue was unresolved for long enough that I probably have like seven "alternative endings" floating around in my head, because I kept thinking about what Alfred (and Brannon) would do if things played out like this, if things played out like that, etc etc.

If Zelda told Alfred she was pregnant his plan probably would have been to propose they marry immediately upon his return, relocate to somewhere exotic and then not move back to England until like 3-5 years later and just consistently lie about their child's age. Hopefully people would've stopped keeping track by the time the Hogwarts letter issue came up. In most versions of this reality I don't think he manages to coherently convey this plan to Zelda and instead starts making arrangements while she's largely in the dark.

Brannon, meanwhile, would have been very suspicious if he got a 'I'd like to marry your daughter' letter via mail from someone he'd never met though lbr he would have been suspicious of anyone who wanted to marry Zelda in the first place and would have brought it up faux-casually to watch Zelda's reaction and try to figure out what was going on. I've imagined how that family dinner might go in just about every iteration.

If she ended up being pregnant and the truth came out to Brannon, his solution would have been to use some complicated illusion charms to make Zelda look like she wasn't pregnant, negotiate with/bribe Astrid to give her an "away assignment" to cover the week leading up to/after the baby, and then made everyone pretend the new baby was another one of Katia's spawn. Once you've already got eight it's not like the ninth is much of an inconvenience, he reasons. Also Zelda would never be allowed to go to any social event ever again.

This conversation also probably happened at some point on that AU path:
Brannon: Can you find a reason to arrest him?
Ross: ... You know I can't just arrest someone without a reason.
Brannon: Of course. But... we can find a reason, right?

Hamish would have married Zelda if Alfred didn't man up <3

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Ophelia Devine - August 23, 2018

There wasn't ever an AU where 1) there was a baby, 2) Alfred knew about the baby, 3) Alfred was not physically threatened away from marrying Zelda, and didn't end up marrying her xD

There was an AU where he proposed because of pregnancy, she lost it, and then he awkwardly called the marriage off, though. So Uncle H could've swept in then. ;D

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Edric Umbridge - August 30, 2018

For a long time I've been able to group certain characters together despite differences in situation (class, blood, occupation, age, etc.) and always wondered why. I soon realized that I have a few groups of character "types" I have and I subconsciously group them together based on them:

The All-Doers: These characters (1) have more non-distinct and/or well-rounded personalities, (2) can be put in a number of situations without wondering how they'd react, and (3) generally rely on internal character motivations rather than other characters or plots to keep them afloat. They're the characters that typically get the most action (and therefore seem like my favorites), but also can suffer harsh burnout if I begin to find that their interactions are repetitive. They are also the most susceptible to getting rep-dinged if I'm not careful because I will go to great lengths to make them interesting if they're beginning to bore me. Examples are Bella Scrimgeour, Edric Umbridge, and Handsome Whitledge.

The Quirky Characters: These characters (1) have a strong identifying personality trait, (2) are easy to post because their reactions to situations are easy to figure out, and (3) do best in threads/situations where their identifying trait can be shown or challenged. I generally consider them my more ~entertaining~ characters, but they're susceptible to muse issues if I cannot get in their mindset. Examples are Holly Scrimgeour, Finnian Byrne, and @"Helga Scamander".

The Picky Characters: These characters (1) were made for a specific purpose, (2) generally flourish best in threads/situations that revolve around that purpose, or (3) have an identifying plot/personality trait that I'm trying to break free of to make their personalities more well-rounded. They generally depend on their surroundings rather than internal motivation and are easier or harder to post depending on what situations they're put in. Sometimes it may look like I'm struggling with them, but I'm just looking for The Ideal Situations for them to thread in! Examples are Tessa Darrow, Benjamin Ross, Jossima Warbeck.

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Oliver Devereaux - August 31, 2018

I better not be the only person who does this when they write basically anything, but I gotta, like, make the facial expressions I'm trying to describe or to properly channel the character's ~feelings or whatever? You know, like frowning the whole time I'm writing angst, etc.

So my mother passed by the doorway midway through Oliverposts and was just: "um what are you smirking like that about?" sorry it's MY VILLAIN SMIRK, MUM. how do i explain

I actually bite my lip a lot to hide whatever smirk I'm trying to contain because my mom is usually sitting write next to me when I'm posting. XD It's especially hard with M threads hahahahah

RE: Charming Confessions 2.0 - Elias Grimstone - September 3, 2018

So, uh, who else plays the Rotating Av game?

This is when, sure, they're all pretty, you like them all, but you have a Favourite or one that especially Fits The Mood for something so you sit there refreshing a thread until the one you want pops up. (And I don't just mean of my own characters, I 100% have favourites of all yours too. >.>)

NEXT LEVEL ROTATING AV GAME: ...When more than one character in a thread has rotating avs and you have Many Favourites. /i'm a child & easily entertained, will sit there slamming refresh for days

I make faces when I have a hard time figuring out how to describe my character's faces... so I make them or act it out or whatever so I know how to describe it. xP
