This was easy, the first year thought, though those proved to be the famous last (internal) words as Jameson caught sight of a bludger heading his way. Deftly, the Ravenclaw attempted to swing hismelf out of its path, thoguh this resuted in him now hanging upside down from his broomstick, more or less in the same spot he had been before. Already his ears were beginning to ring!

Fudge tried to get his bat in the way of the bludger heading towards him, but too late; it rammed his shoulder, hopefully only leaving a stain on his robes and not any underlying injury to Fudge's batting arm. The younger crew wasn't faring well either — Pettigrew managed to roll out of the way but Gallivan had been hit, and Jameson Potter had been knocked off his broomstick... No, strike that, apparently Jameson Potter had just fallen off of his broomstick before the bludger even reached him, though it certainly had no trouble finding him now that he was a static, dangling target. Ben blew his whistle and climbed on his broom to go retrieve the boy. Cushioning charms or not, a fall from that height would certainly hurt.

The bludgers, obviously, had no respect for a coach's whistle, but hopefully enough of the students had noticed that they wouldn't try to actively direct any of them to this area while Ben was mid-rescue of the eleven-year-old.
Jameson, Paxton, and Nathaniel take hits. Caspian dodges.

BLUDGERS IN FLIGHT:
None!

Caspian felt smug about having escaped the bludger when students older than himself had been hit. He continued to soar through the sky as he continued to try staying out of reach.

#36
Pip did his best to continue staying out of the path of the bludgers. No one was targeting him yet, it looked like. He hoped it would stay that way.

It was an absolute Madhouse Greta decided as she attempted to keep herself clear of it and tried to remember why exactly she had agreed to be in the game... and why she hadn't particularly followed suit with the other seekers Bonnie and Anne and gone to play Beater. If she had she could've probably taken a more active role besides avoiding being hit. It didn't matter though, being a moving target at least was normal... afterall if you took out a teams seeker in a game you did serious damage to a teams chances of actually winning.

Thanks go to the marvelous MJ for her sensational set.

Morgan was not on any team, nor was she a particularly athletic person despite being so tall*, but she made up for that with an intense desire to fit in and make the most out of her Hogwarts experience. She wanted to be apart of all the games and enjoy herself to the fullest and if that meant attempting to dodge flying powder puffs and help get Slytherin some points well, she would do her best. She swirved, somewhat unsteadily and and tried to figure out where the flying bludgers were.

(*apologies I have yet to math and update her height)

Where were Gryffindors beaters? It felt like they were not doing anything at all as Eros continued trying to evade the other houses beaters.

This was madness and Anne loved it. Deciding his pretty face needed fixing, Anne smacked a bludger toward Eros Mohr.

These weren't actual bludgers so they would not hurt or cause any damage at all but Eros was still quite keen to not be hit. He flew in one direction before feinting in a different direction in the hopes of tricking the powdery ball. Not that he would mind altogether if he ended up hit. He would simply dust himself off and get back into the game. It was all in good fun which Eros had sorely needed.

Nico took a moment to try and see if Jameson Potter was all right. Once he determined the Coach had it well in hand, he hit a bludger away from the instructor and first year, aiming it towards Miss Gillenwater.

Bonnie was cackling like a good and they whisked around, not even reapply paying attention whether their last shot hit. A flash of green went past as the seeker spotted Morgan Valenduris and sent a bludger her way for her trouble. They had to throw in a quick barrel roll of their own to avoid being hit by a bludger, this was what life was all about.

"Hi," Jammy greated lamely as Crouch came to save assist him. The burning in his face, the Ravenclaw chose to believe, was simply from the redirection of blood in his body, not embarrassment.

Rex had halted play when the whistle had blown, casting his eyes about the pitch to see what the problem was. Oh, Jammy he thought wryly as his eyes fell upon the first year. He'd not let his cousin live this one down in a hurry.

As play resumed, the Hufflepuff took off after the nearest bludger, hitting it with a satisfying thwack in the direction of Miss Gillenwater.

Ben didn't bother to lecture Mr. Potter once he had him safely on the ground; he presumed the ridicule he might receive from his housemates later would more than make the point. "Sit down for a minute if you want to go back up," he recommended before returning his attention to the game. Potter was still looking a little red-faced, maybe from the disorienting sensation of being hung upside down or maybe just from embarrassment. Meanwhile, the game was continuing overhead. Mohr had dogded again, but three other bludgers had made contact — one to Miss Valenduris (not the blind one, Merlin help him) and two, very nearly at the same time, to Greta Gillenwater. She might need to take a minute after being pummeled from two directions at once, too.
Eros dodges. Greta hit twice (Nico & Rex), Morgan once (Bonnie).

Damn Ravenclaw, they were winning. That was something that Anne found nauseating, unless they were playing Gryffindor (in which case, let's go Ravenclaw). Time for Greyback to get a taste of her own bludger medicine. Rocketing off after the nearest bludger, Anne squared up and smacked a bludger in Blair's direction.

They were in the lead but Hufflepuff was on their tail. Nico hit a bludger towards Rex. Hufflepuff needed a few outs, it looked like.
