What: Funeral of Mrs. Cartwright
Who: Henrietta's oldest sister took the reigns on organizing it, as the Least Useless Cartwright. If you had a family connection to the Cartwrights or either of the two families Henri's sisters married into you're invited to the funeral, UC society types who aren't excessively purist (aka anyone who might have been on good terms with Mama) are invited to a reception at Hermione nee Cartwright's house to follow. It's not like we're taking invitations at the funeral though so if you happen to be wandering by and want to stop, go for it :P

Why: Self explanatory.
When: 6 October 1891
Laying the body of Mrs. Cartwright to rest and then returning to commune with her spirit. Mrs. Cartwright's ghost will not be in attendance at her funeral because she has pronounced that garish (and because she expects her three daughters to spy on the guests and report back who seemed to be experiencing extreme emotion so that she can hold it against them later). The ceremony will be brief, which is good because rain will start falling midway through and be coming down fairly heavily by the time they all retire to the Wellingtonshire house. Henrietta will remain thoroughly soaked for the reception and be looking like a drowned rat dressed in black crepe. At the reception Mrs. Cartwright will regal the guests with stories about her life, and expect to be lavished with attention from all sides. Finger sandwiches will be served along with light refreshments. There will be no liquor because this is not a celebration.
