Abbas wasn't sure what had happened, being far below the height of the box at the time of the incident. He rose to try and get a better look, but it was no use. The box was not terribly damaged, but the screams its spectators emitted momentarily drowned out the roars of the crowd. It was not long before the players froze, and not long after that the match was officially halted.
"Died?" he hissed in Arabic after Hassan had flown to meet him. Dread filled him. Was there some rule that the death of a spectator would result in the immediate end of a match? Had they lost because a British beater misfired his bludger? He doubted it, but that begged the question: what was doing to happen?
