CHARACTER NAME: Galatea Merrythought
BECAUSE… I wanted to create a character that embodied my teenaged angst. She was a canon character on super old Charming and she spoke to me. I actually wasn't aware that she's meant to become Tom Riddle's DADA teacher until after I made her. Her name on old!Charming was Merrythought Galatea for some reason so she was called that for years until I had it changed IC and then had it retconned now.
CREATION DATE: Originally sometime in 2011 or 2012. She's very much a revamped version though.
BIRTH YEAR: 1865
PLANNED DEMISE: She has to live until about the 1930s, so she can be Tom Riddle's DADA professor. I've always liked the idea of her living long enough to fight Voldemort but tbh that probably won't happen and she'll die of old age.
HOGWARTS HOUSE: Slytherin
BOGGART: Herself casting one of the Unforgivables.
AMORTENTIA: A good meal; coffee; Fallon probably
PATRONUS: A scorpion.

I DREAM OF POSTING WITH…Ernest Mulciber since he's her dad in this character reincarnation. Other Working Class people as well as characters involved with Dark Magic.
IN THE MODERN AGE… She'd either be in the mafia, or studying criminology.
DURING THE WAR… She'd be super disappointed at Tom Riddle because he would have been one of her favourite students. Probably feel obliged to kill him.

IMMEDIATE GOALS: Study dark magic. I might have her interview for a position at the Dept. of Mysteries because that'd be fun.
LONG-TERM GOALS: Become Hogwart's DADA professor at some point. Until then, have a morally ambiguous plot involving Dark Magic which still isn't so edgy that she can't do the job she canonically has to.

- Merry was a Hogwarts student. She was friends with Lynn's Agrippa guy and was super angry when he was framed for sexual assault.
- She kissed Olive's Brutus Kettleburn.
- She played Quidditch which I have retconed out because I couldn't be bothered to claim Quidditch years tbh and it didn't matter in this new reincarnation. >.>
- Graduated from Hogwarts, joined the auror training program. On old Charming she actually completed it and became an auror but this new Merry didn't because she gave off Anakin Skywalker vibes and her mentor decided #maybe not.
- She's currently researching dark magic.
