What: Christmas Shakespearean Medieval Masquerade Ball
Who: UC/MCAB with Rep 7 or higher, but that's kinda flex? It's a masquerade, it'd likely be easy to fly under the radar :P
Cost: Nope!
Where: The Dempsey Estate; Galway, Ireland
Why: Christmas! But it's also the Dempsey Clan so it's gotta be #EXTRA
When: 23 December 1894
It's Christmas at the Dempsey Estate, bitches! Hosted by Lowri Dempsey, the estate is decked out in opulence and gold; black and gold, to be precise. The vibe is 'dark enough to be on brand for the Dempseys but not so dark that it seems like death is everywhere' :P Sheer black curtains are hung from Renaissance-era columns and accented with glittering gold sparkles. The centerpiece of the ballroom is a large (not quite floor-to-cieling) dark green pine tree, decorated in black and gold ornaments.
Of course, a themed masquerade ball means guests must dress up on theme, and dress to impress. Extra masks are provided for those who might have forgotten, or merely want to play up the Shakespearean theme. Of course, the masks depict forest animals, fae folk, and all kinds of wonderful, whimsical
Musicians have been hired as entertainment for the main ballroom, however there are many side-rooms containing various activities; fortune telling, and a lounge where guests may dictate a message for a scribe, who will then write it in the form of a sonnet and send it to the guest's intended. (Note: this does mean there will be many pages flying about the room; careful not to get clipped by one)
Dinner will be served at 8pm and the ball will last until well past midnight, to the hours of the morning the next day.
