Atticus is the other half to Basil's whole, even if they are a little fractured. He's the practical one, the proper brother who upholds the family reputation and responsibilities. (For the most part.)

Personality: Tough love, very traditional upperclass values, man of leisure/head of household for the Foxwood estate. Can be a rake if you so chose. I really see Atticus as the outgoing, charming one where Basil can be awkward and bumble a bit.

History: Practically inseparable, Basil and Atticus were often mistaken for twins as children. They have a very deep rooted history, entangled one with the other, and I'd like to play on that a bit. Hogwarts was the first time they were separated physically and it affected them both in their own ways. Basil became more quiet, more introverted - whereas Atticus maybe blossomed and became the center of attention/peacock? When they finally reunited as third and first years, the relationship had started change. Trigger some major catalyst for a blow-out?

Open to ideas, but something major has to have happened for them to no longer be so close. Could be at Hogwarts, or could be as adults (but prior to 1886).

Some key history details that won't flex:

- Towards the beginning of Basil's fourth year (Atticus' seventh), Basil has a rather public panic attack in the Owlery and the only person capable of talking him down is Atticus. Another student had to ask to have Atticus excused from class to deal with his brother; however Atticus feels about that is open. Maybe it brought them closer? Maybe it made the rift even larger?

- Atticus Sr. - their father - died from The Laughing Plague in 1884. Atticus' relationship with their father is also very open. Basil was the reject son, so Atticus was the Golden Child, but how he took this favoritism is open for discussion.

- As an adult Atticus' finest moment thus far has been in regaining the original family estate in Bath. (See Basil history.) How he did this (threats and blackmail v. honestly) is totally up for the player to decide.

Specific Plot Ideas:

1. Currently, Basil is dangling at the end of his rope in terms of Atticus' patience. It's only because Atticus 'allows' him to that Basil is still working at Hogwarts but this could change any day. I'd like to eventually play out the final confrontation where either: Basil is forced to give up Hogwarts or take a stand against his family; or Basil is forced to make a change (take a wife?) in order to stay.

2. Marriage is the other sour spot between them, but also a bit flex. If Atticus is a rake who is still unattached, then maybe he's trying to save his little brother from scandal but doesn't push too hard? If Atticus is already married, then he is definitely trying to save face about having a bachelor for a brother and pushes a lot harder.

Additional Plot If Married:

- If Atticus is married, I'd like him to have a son. Age is entirely up for debate, however - they will be the first Slytherin house member in 4+ generations of (otherwise Ravenclaw) Foxwoods. Said child also has anxiety like Basil (severity up for flex) and they have a close bond over it. Perhaps some scandal starts that the boy is actually Basil's son? Lots of juicy potential.

Cornelius, or Nee as Basil affectionately calls him, is the best (read:only) friend Basil has. They met as first years and hit it off rather well, staying in contact over the years.

Personality: Completely open; likely a bit of a flirt? Also likely that he's more charismatic than Basil (not hard) and tries to drag him to social events.

History: Honestly, Nee's history is super open. The only relevant details related to Basil are that he is probably the only other person outside of the family that knows Basil has anxiety and frequent panic attacks. *Has to at least be someone from a family which, at the time they were at Hogwarts, was in good standing so Basil's father couldn't complain about his friendships.

Quote:"Somewhere along the lines, he managed to befriend Cornelius ‘Nee/Nius’ Edevane: a Slytherin in his same year. They had many of the same courses together, and interests between the two aligned politically as well as personally. (They are still close friends to date and Basil cherishes his opinion, because he has few close acquaintances.)"

Specific Plot Ideas:

Nee is a very open request with little detail because I'd like to give the player maximum flexibility with him. I see a lot of variety in the character, as well as quite the range in terms of reputation, so pretty much anything goes as long as we can mold him together. I had thought - perhaps - Nee and Basil had a little bit of a romantic relationship at one point? Maybe one sided? Maybe it blew up in their faces? Maybe they had one accidental stand and swore never to speak of it again? If so, this 100% affects Basil's current view of relationships and love so let's chat!

Additionally, I was thinking Nee could somehow be involved in the future course of Basil's career. Again, VERY open, but maybe he works at the ministry and - teaming up with Atticus - makes moves to get Basil transferred to the educational dept? Maybe he works at Hogwarts too and pulls that direction? Maybe he has a sister he wants to force on Basil? IDK - again - very interested in potential plots and ideas.
