[Rather than a mere Diary Caroline Weasley has probably what resembles a scrapbook if it were bound together or if she was organised to do such a thing. It is instead a folder with ribbon tied around it that lives in an old lidded box. It is a rather eclectic collection of newspaper articles, or items she has found and wants to keep, and includes quite a bit of loose leaf parchment - from things that she has copied from things she has read (as either "handwriting practice" or because she liked it and wanted a copy), loose leaf diary pages, notes and observations along with her own special project - her own zoological diary and other things she had decided to write down, plan or keep.]
To the standard observer it is mostly a chaotic mess and Caroline would love to say she knows where everything is................... she probably does not but swears she puts everything in it and totally does.

Louisa WEASLEY IS SOOOO BORING!!! It's always Honnie this and Honnie that.
Honnie didn't come to the park today and Louisa is just moping around.
It is so boring.
Also. I got a new book today. It was about how people make wizard chess sets. It is AMAZING. I want to make a chess set. I wonder if anybody would help me?
I wonder if you could use the spells to make other things ? I wonder what would happen if--------

[Here is a drawing of a giant monster tooth and tiny drawing of Caroline. The tooth drawing is massively out scale in her drawing and while in reality was 3ft to her 4ft it appears to be far bigger than her in her drawing]
I found a gigantic MONSTER TOOTH!
All these people came to see it but they wouldn't let me keep it and Mama said it was too big to keep anyway and it would be better if the Ministry kept it because they could find out exactly what it was and then they'd donate it to the museum for everyone to see and that it would be selfish if I kept it for myself especially since I can't keep it in my box... but they said thank you for finding it.
LAURIE AND WESS ARE SOOO JEALOUS BECAUSE I FOUND IT AND THEY DIDN'T.
Wes is now being so annoying and pouting and wont talk to me and he said he should've been the one to find it but he didn't. I did.
It was all his fault anyway that he wasn't with me because he was off playing pirates with Lawrence instead of playing adventurers with me which he said he would do.

It...... is as accurate as an eight year old can draw from memory, in that it probably isn't actually that accurate but has the general gist of things. It probably wouldn't be too much help if accuracy was required. It has annotations of what she thinks escaped and where she thinks she should look.... all in all it looks like a treasure map. There is other scrawls on it as well from "helpful" siblings.

Dear Diary,
I'm going to ask Daddy to get me a trunk with a expansion charm for my Birthday... and if he says no I might ask Santa to get me one for Christma! It sounds super useful and then they wouldn't have to live under my bed!! I wonder how he kept all the animals safe and okay though maybe they weren't since they escaped. Wes and I want to go find them but nanny says it's much too dangerous since they still haven't found Honnie. Or the other people who have gone missing so we're only allowed to check in the garden.
I am including a map encase we are allowed to go out and look maybe we should sneak out and try and find them anyway. I think we'd be super helpful because we are really good at finding things and going places adults cannot.

We found a hole underneath the back garden wall. I wonder if it belongs to any of the escaped creatures? I wanted to investigate however mother said it was supper time and afterwards it was apparently too late to go outside. I guess I'll have to investigate tomorrow.

Honnie is back which means the Lou is happy again which is always good news. She ended up being transfigured into a Snitch by the man behind all the kidnappings in Hogsmeade. The animal snitch not the quidditch ball. I honestly think that being transfigured into something else would've been loads of fun. Even if it meant being away from everyone for a a while. I'd probably not like being bird... the idea of falling or forgetting to flap or to glide does sound like something I would very much not be into.

Dear Diary.
Something fought the giant squid! The news people think its got something to do with the tooth I found! I can tell you for a fact that whatever it is must be ji-normous. Do you think it's a shark? Or maybe a dinosaur or an experiprobment gone wrong? I'm going to see if the governess take us to the library tomorrow so I can do some research.

Dear Diary,
We aren't to go near the lake any more and it appears that whatever is lurking there is quite dangerous. The ministry are going to go and investigate! They are looking for people with experience with magical beasts, and sailing, and exploration and even thise who can speak mermish because there are mermaids in the lake. I want to go because I'm already involved because I found the giant tooth and I know lots about magical beasts but Governess said there is alot more to know and I haven't even gone to Hogwarts yet and can't use magic.
I think I could easily learn what to do if I had a wand or something but since my research hasn't really helped I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to find out what's beating up the squid first and then they'll have to take me along. I also told Governess I want to learn Mermish since that could be useful.
