Vampire Logistical Questions
#1
Our documentation isn't crystal clear on this and I want to clear it up before I make assumptions I shouldn't. xD I've been playing Lyra as though she can sort of smell the way blood would taste, particularly when she is hungry, because that's fun to torture her with.

My question/my thought is that if someone had a blood borne illness, would a vampire be able to pick up on that when either tasting or smelling it? Not like "oh, hm, I have just diagnosed you as HIV+ from this drop of your blood," but more along the lines of "something about your blood seems off."

Since vampires aren't alive, I don't imagine it would matter much for them since they wouldn't be able to contract any of those diseases. But it does lead to my follow-up question: is lycanthropy a blood borne illness, and would a vampire be able to pick up on it? Probably more in a 'this is strange, why do you taste like shit?' sort of way unless they were a really experienced vampire who recognized the taste/scent.

In our documentation we have this line: "Half-vampires also do not taste 'pleasant' to vampires" which supports the idea that werewolves might also tastes 'bad,' but we don't actually have any reference to other non-humans in the doc.

I put part of this in the In society section of the vampire doc!
“Although vampires have no specific 'problems' with werewolves, they can identify lycanthropes as having 'wrong' blood if they try to drink from them, and it may make them nauseated or ill.”

The rest I am on my phone and can not answer

I mentally imagine it's quite like drinking milk I suppose. Milk from different animals taste different and so does plant milk. So basically straight human blood would be like human milk and the a half vamp would be cows milk or whatever is the most similar due to being part vampire and part human but still off in maybe a way that could be compared to lactose intolerance? And then other bloods would probably taste even odder.

Say Izzia would likely taste odd because of her goblin heritage but not as odd as a straight goblin because she has human blood diluting the taste some?

This could be wrong. This could be a weird analogy. But that is how I've always thought of it. I'm not sure which would taste the worst.

Edit: oops I just realized this a few weeks old. I didn't mean to end up on this thread. I got here but terms of my phone being on but not paying attention to what I type.
