Crowdsourcing Virtual Gift Ideas
#1
Hi folks!

You might have heard but the entire rest of my semester will now be conducted virtually. This is challenging for me in many ways, but the fact that I'm the elected rep in charge of like... student moral and engagement and planning events and shit, it is also challenging in that regard.

On my campus we've done a "Secret Buddy" program for several semesters. It's basically Secret Swap, but runs throughout the semester with about a gift a month or so. Rather than just canceling it when we all really need a moral boost, I'm looking to move it to a virtual program ... and I'm looking for ways you could give anonymous gifts online.

I have a few ideas (many stolen from Secret Swap) but if anyone has ideas about platforms or methods to do this easily online, that would be fantastic...

> Creating playlists for people
> Fun images or gifs
> Anonymous notes (anyone know of a website that will send these anonymously for you if you put in an email??)
> Links to online resources maybe?? idk, that's less fun and more business-y.
> Other ideas???

I appreciate you guys <3

If you are okay with monetary gifts, check out elfster. I've used it for like secret santa things during Christmas time. But I imagine there's a way to do it where it isn't monetary? I'm not sure. Either way, people get a free account and can fill out their likes and whatnot. It will automatically assign a recipient to everyone and all that jazz from what I know.

I feel like this: https://www.anonymoustext.com/ is something we used at a place I used to work when we had secret buddies.

Edit: Except the one we used used was free. So maybe it wasn't this, but I imagine there is something similar.
