Take a look, it's in a book, a Reading Raaaainboooow.

Hellooooo!  Zachariah Binns owns Whizzhard Books in Hogsmeade, and I am looking to plot and to see if there's interest in a few things!  Zachariah loves helping others find new reads, encouraging young/reluctant readers, playing gobstones and other games in the shop, and generally just spreading a love of reading.  He also holds events!  (Which could be pre-planned or merely random, pop-up, open threads.)
  • Is your character an author (or an aspiring author) and wants to have a signing/reading/etc.?  Whizzhard Books will happily host. (Or at least help facilitate an awkward run-in.)
  • Do your characters want to be part of a Book Club?  Open to all classes and genders.
  • What about poetry night?  Do you have a budding poet?  Do you have someone who wants to impress their love with a poem recitation, but fails miserably?  Do you just want to come and watch the world burn at poetry night?
  • What about Readers Theater?  Do you want to join others (possibly in costume) and perform hilarious versions of Shakespeare, or perhaps even A Christmas Carol around the holidays?  (Try-Outs & a fun After Party included.)  Perhaps, as a fundraiser for a charity.
  • Does your character just need help finding a particular book?
  • Gobstones lover?  Chess?  What about Exploding Snap?
  • Whizzhard has cat residents.  Do you just want to cuddle them by the fire?
  • Want to work there??? Or pretend to?

Wow I have many booknerds available for things.

Porphyria Dempsey is a published emo poet and will Show Up for aaaaall the poetry things!
Carmelina Cramming also writes books / likes books / will be there buying books when she's not at Hogwarts!
Ari Fisk is also a regular nerd but probably drops in most often to see the cats.
Tybalt Kirke is my ridiculous amateur actor with Shakespeare experience if any theatre happens xD

look ANOTHER beautiful bee!set <3

Elsie worked there from 1884-1886 and is still a frequent flier! Febby is too, but less so now. That's all I have XD

@"Odira Potter" is all about books, yo. Benjamin Turner is quite keen on chess, but obvi of limited usefulness during the school year

@"nimiane Bellchant" is the best selling author, Isolde Bennet, except no one knows that. I've had a lingering plot in my head where someone has wanted her to do a book reading/signing and has begun to write to her profusely on the matter, imploring her to do so. I can see this going so far as to have Nimmie hiring someone to be her and attending the event herself. As is she is looking to release her newest book soon. Think Zachariah would be game? Would love for someone to eventually out her too.

Also @"percival adlard Jr." Is a frequent customer. Ellsworth Ruskin is over summers... and perhaps by mail?

@"Benevolence Montague" - would def fall asleep by a fire with some new herbology book and a cat, and end up apologizing for treating his shop as a library by gifting plants, spoiling the shop cats and buying ALL the plant books

Meserimus Valenduris - loves his books and would definitely be sucked into conversations and correspondence on books, and probably has a standing order for potions books, some other wizarding fiction, and something random like Muggle 3-volume novels.

OH my gosh I thought I replied to this, but apparently not! Unless it just didn't go through. Shoots magoots.

Keep an eye out for open thread poetry nights! And I'll let you know if there's going to be any dramatic Shakespeare readings because that would be hilarious. And obviously, I'd love to thread with you with anybody so haha

@'Elsie Beauregard'
We have a thread going with Zach and Febby, but we should do one with him and Elsie at some point, too!

Aldous Crouch
Odira and Zach would be great to thread with!

Sisse Thompsett
Yes! Zachariah would totally be game to hold a book reading/signing for Nimiane. That would be awesome. I could see him writing her in hopes that she'd come and do one at the shop, especially if he's heard patrons wishing they could meet "Isolde Bennet." (Or, honestly, I think his mother would probably love her books, and he would totally push hard so that his mother could meet her. hahahaha #mama'sboy Or his niece.)

@'Benevolence Montague'
Yes to both of those! If you need more people to thread with for NaNo for Benevolence, poke me, and we can get something going sooner.

Ayyy let's do Shakespeare! I would totally volunteer Reuben Crouch for a role. He doesn't have anything better to do with his time.

Lupus Jameshill has a party finished manuscript for a transfiguration book that he might try and publish under a pseudonym, which would be awkward for book signings or things like that, since he's 'dead.'

J. Alfred Darrow is technically an author too, but probably not the kind you want to do readings since he's a bit notorious. His book was edited to be more sensational and might have implied he engaged in cannibalism.

Lyra Potter wouldn't come in during shop hours, so as not to cause a scene, but she might write in and see if she could mail-order books. She's got a soft spot for Shakespeare and Jane Austen.

If you have capacity for a thread, Ben is ripe to fall asleep by the fire in the shop?

Perfect! I am gearing up a press release for her newest book. We can start the letters after that?
