5 Christmas Gift Ideas For Your Beau!
Gift giving is always quite the thing to deal with but it is especially daunting when it comes to selecting a gift for ones beau. It had to be within the proper confines of etiquette while also making him feel well thought of. Proper gifts for a beau should be of a delicate nature and preferably made by ones own hands. The following are four gift ideas that Witch Weekly thinks will make both you and your beau quite happy this holiday season.

A luxurious quill set
A gift much more suited for engaged couples than those merely courting, a luxurious quill set is the perfect gift for ones fiance. It indicated that you think of the gentleman as the heroic type as well as mighty for as the saying goes: the quill is mightier than the wand!

A book relating to his interests
A book might seem impersonal but it is proper for those courting couples just starting out on their path together. It also shows your beau that you listen to him when he speaks and that you pay attention to the things that he likes.

A tobacco pouch or coin purse
A tobacco couch or coin purse made by your own hand is the ideal gift for any beau. Just embroider its exterior to your liking, put it together and you'll have something that your beau can always carry with him. A gift should hold part of the giver and nothing does that better than a lady making the gift by her own hand.

A painting
If you're not the sort to be able to wield a needle, try wielding a paint brush instead! It has the same hand made sentiment and shows off your creativity in a unique way.

An embroidered handkerchief
Utilizing the needlework skills that most young ladies learn from a young age, an embroidered handkerchief makes for an excellent gift. It can be as simple as just his initials embroidered in the corner so even the most hopeless young ladies can master making one of these.
This pouch can be used as either a tobacco pouch or a coin purse. It's up to the gentleman what he wishes to use it for.A quill set is suggestive of mental power and is a great compliment for ones fiance.

Invite the relatives and friends to bring something to your Christmas feast this year! Taking the burden on yourself only leaves you tired, but different dishes from different family members can spark memorable conversations—and you just might score the recipe for the perfect pork pie!

If... Mostly C's:
Go outside and enjoy your surroundings. Not everything needs to be flashy; a walk through the snow or a sleigh ride can be soothing while also immersing you in holiday spirit!

If... Mostly D's:
Pick out a festive winter wardrobe. If money is tight from all the shopping, invest in Christmas-y hats and gloves. You never hesitate to enjoy yourself, so you might as well dress the part!

Many see courtship as simply a step toward marriage, but remember that this is also a time to figure out if you truly wish to marry into this family! Knowing When to End a Courtship
Any civilized person would never enter a courtship with any intentions other than marriage. However, any smart young woman knows that if your beau is showing troublesome signs of scandal, it is best to cut ties before any official commitment, such as an engagement, is made.

The first signs of trouble may occur if your beau starts acting strangely soon after you begin courting. Before you become too alarmed, remember that there may always be an understandable reason for a sudden change of behavior. Family illness, perhaps? Or perhaps his sisters are teasingly pressuring him to marry you? Of course, it is never wise to rush into an engagement soon after a courtship has begun.

One must also be aware of the friends your beau spends his free time with. Does his friend have a worrisome past? Perhaps your beau has participated in something he shouldn't! Encouraging friendships with more respectable men - in a sublte and respectable manner of course! - may be the solustion to this problem, but one can never be too careful.

But one of the biggest concern that our young ladies should watch out for, what is the family like? While your beau might certainly be a suitable match, remember that you will be marrying into a family name! Has his brother caused trouble in the past? Is his mother a feminist? As you get to know those who are part of your beau's life, be sure to know who you will be associating with before saying yes to any proposals!

Of course, there are certainly more reasons why to be hesitant before making a lifelong commitment. We here at Witch Weekly wish to encourage our readers to find love and marriage of the most respectable degree, even if that means saying no to a terrible match.

Witch Weekly would like to reiterate the sentiments of the last edition and remind ladies that speed-skating is not for them. However, gentlemen responsibly engaging in the sport should be perfectly safe to do so, it is rare that a confident skater has a life-altering accident on the ice. Letters From Our Readers!
Dear Witch Weekly,
In your last issue I (please overlook this unfortunate choice of words, it is not intend to amuse in the slightest) took issue with your 'Guide to a Wonderful Winter'. One of your recommendations was for speed skating and I really think this was most hideously reckless of you. I needn't point out to you that this a magazine for witches and so your suggestion of such an aggressive past time was poorly made. While you did acknowledge the impropriety for a lady to zoom about the ice, this may as well have been foregone altogether for why else should one have written it in a witch's magazine?

However that is the more minor side of my grievance, speed skating regardless of the sex partaking of it is a wretched activity that ought to be done away with and forgotten entirely! Why, you may ask? It is incredibly dangerous and brutal, ask any Dutchman this time next year and I'm sure he'll know of someone who was either disfigured for life or died as a result of speed skating. I myself have lost someone to it.

It is utterly reckless and a magazine whom people trust should not be encouraging such things.
A Lady Opposed to Skating

To Witch Weekly,

I wish you had made mention in your recent mistletoe article of Christmas pranksters. It seems that every year some horrid person takes it upon themselves to interfere with publicly accessible mistletoe. I was caught out by some charmed mistletoe two years ago and I've been unable to enter a room with mistletoe hung in it ever since. Whomever out there thinks that it might be jolly good fun to enchant some mistletoe this December, I implore you to think twice and refrain! Your mischief is not harmless!
Miss Letaux
