Forfang Book Deal Announced
Scandalous Research Raises Concerns In Scholarly Community

It was announced last week that a publishing house has agreed to publish a book by Professor Marlowe Forfang, whose paper On the habits of werewolves made waves in the research community this spring. The initial study, detailing the measures unregistered lycanthropes took to protect themselves and others during their full moon transformations, was not without controversy; some criticized the publication for treating unregistered werewolves — who are, by definition, criminals — as normal citizens or even as laudable heroes, depending on your read. Even so, the next installment of research on the subject was much anticipated. New articles were expected this fall, but both the summer and autumn editions of New Research for Wizardkind came and went without a contribution from Professor Forfang.

It seems the Professor was hard at work, however, and publishers have indicated they have already received the manuscript for Mother Wolf, which will be published in a few months after undergoing editorial review. The book details case studies from three women affected with lycanthropy, and the particular subject matter has caused quite a stir in the academic community. It is rumored that passages in the book contain explicit narratives detailing both childbirth and miscarriage, as described by the women who experienced them, which one scholar referred to as "wildly inappropriate."

"For a man to write about these sort of things is shocking enough," Lionel DeWitt of the Society for Research of Beings and Ghasts. "But what audience is Forfang intending to reach? Who does he think wants to read about that sort of thing?"

Controversy aside, the publishers have indicated they intend to move forward with the book as scheduled.
