Hey!

I was thinking Merry's work situation and I had an idea about something that might not even be a job: dementor uh tamer at Azkaban. I assume there's someone keeping them tame so they don't go around sucking people's souls off?

Also, if Merry did work at Azkaban, would that ruin her reputation so much that she couldn't work at Hogwarts sometime around 1895 like she's supposed to because of canon?

I would have thought that working with Dementors in any direct way would be detrimental to someone's reputation because theirs is so poor and canonically it's pretty clear that the Ministry never really had much control over them so I'm not sure there would be a specific person!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always assumed it was more like the Ministry had a deal with the Dementors that they could feed on the souls of the prisoners in exchange for guarding the fortress, so I'd guess they're more likely to fall under the jurisdiction of the magical creatures department rather then the law enforcement one? Or a cross-departmental thing?
