Dear Mr. Adlard,
*insert pleasantries here*

I saw the news of your promotion in the Daily Prophet this morning and wished to extend my congratulations. I'm sure you'll do a fine job.

I also wished to thank you again for your kindness in the lift two days ago. It's a relief to know I can still consider you a friend despite the time that has passed between us. If you have time to spare perhaps we can arrange to have lunch one day. I'd love to know how you and your family have fared since we last saw one another.

However, I will understand if you're unavailable. A man in your position likely doesn't have much time to spare for old school friends.

Congratulations, again.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle

Dear Mrs. Goyle,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits despite your altered circumstances.

I wished to thank you for your kind wishes. I hope that I may live up to your expectations of such a position and find it a suitable fit.

Please do not trouble yourself over any kindness, it is only what any one might have done in such a situation. If you ever do find yourself in need of assistance, please do not believe my offer was given in vanity or insincerity, I shall be happy to oblige. Know that I cherish the memory of our friendship and meant every word of our conversation.

At the time I do not believe I would be able to meet for lunch, but I should hope that one day when my schedule allows this may be the case.

Sincerely,
Mr. P. Adlard, Jr.

Dear Mr. Adlard,
We are faring well, thank you. Such transitions are always difficult, though I'm certain time will heal all wounds. The children are already beginning to move on.

Thank you for your offer, I shall keep it in mind if we ever have an urgent need. If you ever find a free moment, please let me know. I wish you and your family well.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle

Dear Mrs. Goyle,

It gladdens me to hear that you are fairly well in the transition. I will admit I envy the youth their ability to move on. Perhaps they, unlike us, understand in their innocence some comfort we adults have not found.

The new post has kept me busy, as such transition often does. I hope that this too shall calm. It should be a reprieve to meet and speak of old times.

Catherine often asks after you. She implores me to ask you for a faithful account of how you are. She lost her husband a number of years ago and still keenly feels his loss.

Sincerely,
Mr. P. Adlard Jr.

Dear Mr. Adlard,
Their resilience astounds me. My youngest, Sebastian, is not yet four and has already proven to be more adaptable than most of my acquaintances. I pray he never loses the trait.

Edmund frequently complained about the hefty amount of paperwork that accompanied the higher positions. There were some weeks I didn't see him except for breakfast in the morning. Truthfully, I think he preferred it that way.

I sincerely hope you take to your new position better than he ever did.

I'm sorry to hear she became a widow so young. Was theirs a love match? I shall have to write to her myself. I would hate to task you with playing the messenger between two women. As you said, your schedule is fairly busy. However, in the interim you can assure her I'm doing well and will arrange a visit soon if she prefers.

How are Felicity and your father?

Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle

Dear Mrs. Goyle,

Such a trait is rare among adults. But I hope your prayers will be answered, for it should do him well in his youth. How are your other children fairing? I admit that I know almost nothing of your life as it is now. I can only hope you will forgive me this failing as I do sincerely wish to know how you are.

It is true that the administrative positions have a great deal of paperwork. It often makes me long for the days that I responded to the calls rather than only read the reports of them. But alas, those days are over. Whether it is for the better is yet to be seen.

Yes, I believe that hers was a love match. She certainly was happy when Mr. Smith was alive.

Of late father complains of his ailments more often than not. Felicity has remained by his side since his health began to decline several years ago. She even put her own engagement on hold for it. Unfortunately her intended was lost several summers ago. She has bore up well with these circumstances.

How has your family fared? It seems many a year since I have heard news of them.

Sincerely,
Mr. P. Adlard Jr.

Dear Mr. Adlard,
I understand. I, too, feel as though I'm woefully unfamiliar with the happenings in your life. Perhaps soon your schedule will calm and we can meet again.

The children are well. I have two sons, Oliver and Sebastian. Oliver will be heading to Hogwart's this fall, I can hardly believe it. It feels like it was only yesterday we were roaming the halls. I'm also the guardian for my late brother's daughter, Adelaide. He and his wife perished in the plague. Luckily she was spared, she was only a babe. She is a darling and exceptionally bright.

It's a true tragedy, then, that Mr. Smith passed. I have sent her a letter to express my belated condolences.

Felicity always was very devoted. It's a shame your father isn't doing well, though I'm relieved he has a caretaker. Please, let me know if there's anything I can do to assist her or him.

Mother is an anxious mess, as always. Despite having no children to hover over anymore, it seems her nervousness extends to her grandchildren. My brothers are both well, Fred's wife is expecting a new baby any day now. And as I mentioned in the elevator, Victoria has come to stay with me. Much to mother's dismay, she never married. I suppose she didn't have the same obligations placed upon her as the rest of us.

You haven't mentioned much about yourself outside of your new position. Are you well?

Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle

Dear Mrs. Goyle,

I find it hard to imagine that any child of yours would be attending Hogwats so soon. You are right, it does feel as if only yesterday we were listening to Professor Ruskin’s lectures ourselves. How odd it is to think that time has passed so quickly. I am sure he is excited to attend. I suspect you and the other children are not as keen to be separated from him, however?

I am sorry to hear of your brother’s passing. His daughter is lucky to have you caring for her. I can only imagine the young lady she will become under your tutelage.

Often I find myself sorry that Felicity has been placed in such a position. She should be living her life among the vibrant and living not in the chambers of a dying man, but she will not be swayed.

It is good to hear your family is otherwise well and expanding. I’m sure you enjoy the company of them, especially in these times.

As for myself, I am well. There is little to report here as my life has remained much the same these past years.

Sincerely,
Mr. P. Adlard, Jr.

Dear Mr. Adlard,
His excitement to go trumps any sadness we may feel. I've shared many stories from our days there with them, so I think they're more looking forward to tales of magical castles than they are the loss of his leadership. Though, I don't know how much of it all Sebastian understands.

She is awfully young to be placed in such a position. If you and she would permit it, I would be happy to sit with him to free up her time. My mother is frequently ill and I tend to her as well.

I'm glad you are well.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle

Dear Mr. Adlard,
I pray you'll forgive the lateness of the hour, as I'm unsure of who else to address this too.

There is a fearsome beast loitering in the woods surrounding my backyard. I've heard its hollering often throughout the past week. However, just this evening as Adelaide and I were heading out for a stroll it was within feet of our back door. I've warded the house and sent the children upstairs to bed, but it hasn't left.

Last I checked it was pacing around the yard grunting. Were it not for Sebastian's overwhelming curiosity I would leave it til morning, but I'm afraid he'll attempt an encounter should my nerves steady enough to allow me sleep.

Please help.

Maggie

Maggie,

What kind of creature do you think it is? Is it a bit like a whisp or is it something more physical then that? What kind of cries -
