I hope by now that you've received your supplies list, for I hate to be the bearer of bad news: it seems that I have been selected to serve as prefect for our year! Frankly,  I cannot fathom what Professor Tatting was thinking as you are, undoubtedly, the better choice—were it up to me, you would be the one with the badge.

It seems congratulations are in order! Professor Tatting made the correct choice; you are much more even tempered than myself. Of course there are no hard feelings. Besides, it will allow me to set aside more time for animagus studies.

Have you purchased your supplies, yet? Perhaps, we could meet up, if that is agreeable with you and your family.
