Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
Well, these two had been aiding in judging the rest of these juvenile duels... now it was time to toss them from their high horses.
“If you do not yet know the rules of the duel, I suspect you are beyond help,” Phineas drawled, which was about as talkative as he had been all day – and for him, downright jovial.
“Mr. Crabbe,” he said, choosing his favoured candidate of the two and bidding him to begin.
At last, Rex thought, smiling gamely at Miss Prewett. It was their turn to compete—having spent the earlier part of the day serving as judges for the younger students. That PB was to be their judge was rather daunting, and the Hufflepuff's demenour shifted as he gave the headmaster—his best friend's father—a respectful nod before taking his position.
Rex wasted no time when his moment came—"Avis! Oppugno!" the wizard cast, sending a small flock of birds on a tear towards his cousin.
Professor Black, though he was Sirius’ father, still caused Ada to straighten her spine and adopt a more demure attitude. She gave him and Rex a respectful curtsey before readying herself and casting a simple shield charm.
The birds – decently conjured – flew straight into the shield charm and promptly burst into a barrage of small feathery explosions on impact. (It may have been an illustration of the brain cells Phineas was losing by having to judge all this hogwash.)
"Miss Prewett takes the point, and may cast next," Phineas drawled, in case it was not obvious.
Not one to gloat, Ada's only sign of pleasure that she'd made the first round was a small smile. After readying herself for the next round, she pointed her wand at her cousin and casted the tongue-tying jinx.
His spell had been excellent. Hers had been better. Rex gave Edelweis a congratulatory nod of the head—after all, this was all in good fun. Taking a leaf from the Gryffindor's book, Rex cast a shield charm of his own.
