Did You Know?
Did you know? Before the 1920's, it was believed that the Milky Way Galaxy was the only galaxy in the universe. — Steph
What in the hell could centaurs even want, anyway? Higher quality oats?

September 1, 1894 - Platform 9 3/4, London
To say that he was looking for Glynn was an exaggeration. There was something small and hopeful in his chest that he might see his new friend as Callum skittered onto the platform and kissed his parents goodbye at breakneck speed, racing off without any of the hesitation of previous years— but he wasn’t looking for Glynn. Nope. He was however looking for Kitty as he plopped Fergus down the minute he got on the train and paid no mind to the poor creature as he checked compartment after compartment for either of them her.

After what felt like an endless hour, but in reality had only been about five minute, Callum plopped himself in an empty seat in an abandoned compartment hoping his friend/s might find him instead. Maybe they just weren’t here yet. He hadn’t seen Beck either, for that matter, or Tao. Flopped in his seat, Cal debated what to do when suddenly there was a tap at the window. It was Papa! He opened the thing and was handed a disgruntled looking Fergus who half looked like he wanted to go back to Ireland rather than make it through another year at Hogwarts.

“Ah… brón Papa,” (sorry) Cal muttered, tucking the cat into his chest. Fergus was quivering, likely startled by the train whistle that blew just then. “Please keep a closer eye on him,” Papa Finnigan was saying in English. “For your mother’s sake.”

Riding Hogwarts Express was Cadogan’s least favorite part about getting to Hogwarts – it rattled and shook, and by the end of the ride he always felt sick to his stomach. Because of it, Cad always tried to board last so he didn’t have to sit and wait for the train to start moving. This year was no different as he jumped aboard just as the whistle blew, a light breath escaping him as the whistle blew as a final warning to board just as he started to walk down the hallway. It would have been a disaster if he’d missed the train, but at least there were alternative ways to get to Hogsmeade.

Cad learned a few tricks over the years such as sitting in the middle of the car (where he expected Maeve might know to look for him, considering they’d been sitting together for the last couple years), so he opened a random compartment halfway down the car and sat down near the window, thankful that it was empty. The door was left open for Maeve to find him easier. His fingers nervously drummed against his thigh as he glanced out the window. They weren’t moving yet.

Well, another way to combat motion sickness was small snacks throughout the ride; Cad fiddled through his pockets before he pulled out a chocolate frog, figuring now was as good of time as any to eat it… only the stupid thing jumped out of the container and onto the floor. “Whoa!” Cadogan cried out as he jumped up, only the chocolate frog wiggled underneath the door across from it. He followed it, tossing open the door with an apology on his lips, although it quickly dried up once he saw Callum Finnigan sitting there with a disgruntled cat in his lap.

Cadogan couldn’t help it. He laughed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to disrupt you.” He finally said, motioning toward his father standing in the window. “My uh… chocolate frog ran in here.” Cad quickly explained, even though it was nowhere to be seen right now.
