Yesterday, residents of Hogsmeade were horrified to discover—some by falling into it—that a large sinkhole had opened in Padmore Park.

Though authorities were swiftly on site to attempt rescue, it was soon discovered that the pit denies all magic use, prompting a hold to be placed on any rescue efforts. It is not presently known how many persons are in the pit, though some resources such as water and food have been sent to aid them in the meantime.

Ministry of Magic officials say they hope to have a plan in place before those affected must spend another overnight underground.

Individuals are discouraged from visiting the park at this time due to safety concerns.
