Did You Know?
It’s quite unusual for a caster's patronus to be their favourite animal, but very possible that it will take the shape of a creature they’ve never before seen or heard of. — Amy

Cost:
Where: Hogsmeade Memorial Assembly Rooms
Why: MCs just wanna have fun?

The ball is botanical themed, with arrangements/decor purchased from The Florist Potts and some fancy charmwork so that even the vines on the tablecloths are growing! ACAB | REP 5+ | FLOWER SHOW & DANCE

What: Potts Annual Flower Show
Who: Hosted by Laurel Potts & daughters for anyone, including muggles, though they can only access the left portion of the zoo itself where the muggle animals (and plants!) are. This includes the butterflies, topiaries, picnic space, and lawn games.
Cost: Entrance fee to the zoo to be paid, pay per activity beyond that.
Where: Podmore Zoological Gardens in Irvingly
Why: Flora, Fauna & Fun!
When: May 4th, 1894 (This is the Hogsmeade visit and students may be signed out by a family member to attend!)

The Podmore Zoological Gardens have been transformed into a floral oasis! In both the muggle section on the left and the magical section on the right, the animals have had their exhibits decorated at the front with large arches of flowers from their native habitats. Informative plaques with details about the flowers are attached to each arch.

A large tent with secure nets has been erected in an empty enclosure of the muggle portion of the zoo with a double entrance for a butterfly exhibit, complete with flowers and butterflies from around the world.

Another piece of the same enclosure has been transformed into a lush green lawn and a huge exhibit of colorful topiaries of many of the animals. Lawn games and picnic blankets will also be available.

Between the two sections, behind the ticket booths are the traditional activities the Potts ladies have offered; bouquet arrangements, flower crowns, sweets and refreshments from Honeydukes.

As evening draws near, the zoo’s small outdoor pavilion will be transformed into a sweeping floral presentation where the entire ceiling has been turned into the garden. Flowers will hang down among lights akin to fireflies to set the mood for what is more like a barn dance than a ball.

More information on the zoo setup can be found here!

For the younger set, it's also a chance to take a gander at the marital competition.

ACAB | REP ANY | SCHOOL EVENT

What: Annual Hogwarts Study Week
Who: Hosted by the House Matrons in connection with the student charms club, all students are invited to study for exams together in this annual end of term event.
Cost: None
Where: Spare Hogwarts classroom in the corridor leading to the library
Why: For students to study and to foster house relationships
When: May 12-16 & 19-23

Hogwarts House matrons annually set up evening study sessions at the end of the year with clubs rotating each year in who helps them. This year it is the Hogwarts Book club. Tea and treats have been provided for the students as well as a stack of novels for a study break. There are comfortable study areas for individual study and a parlor set up for students who would like to study in a group. Matrons will be rotating through to assist students. Study each night will focus on the subject of the O.W.L. and N.E.W.T exam the following day, but help will be available for all students in any subject.

Of course with this many students in one area something is bound to happen.

Sunday, May 13: Charms and D.A.D.A.
A seventh year practicing a nonverbal Bombarda Maxima hit a pile of pillows intended to be used for the OWL charms students. Now it looks like it is snowing in the classroom with feathers absolutely everywhere - even in your tea.

Monday, May 14: Astronomy and Charms
A seventh year has been trying to make water into wine, except they've somehow managed to turn all the tea into the room into firewhiskey. (Was this actually an accident?)

Tuesday, May 15: D.A.D.A and Herbology
A fifth year was working on a concealment charm and managed to conceal all the books in the room. Certainly not helpful when one was mid studying about devil's snare.

Wednesday, May 16: Herbology and History of Magic
Someone accidently angered a Mimbulus Mimbletonia and stinksap has managed to spray everyone nearby.

Thursday, May 17: History of Magic and Potions
You'd think these NEWT students would know how to brew a simple Wiggenweld potion by now, perhaps going back to the basics isn't always a good thing? The potion has started to smoke, fogging the entire room with something very similar to the smell of amortia.

Sunday, May 19: Potions and Transfiguration
Cauldron cakes to cabbages was the goal. Instead a potion spilled on the cauldron cakes and the room is full of brussel sprouts with wings that have a pedant for diving into tea.

Monday, May 20: Transfiguration and Astronomy
The conjuring spells that the OWL students are working on for some reason keep summoning the star charts the NEWT students are looking over.

The remaining nights are available for chaos at the digression of the elective courses that are being studied for.
