Description of Location:
THE STUDENTS | Pupils at PSYR are exclusively female, aged 15-20 when they enroll. They are required to leave, if still in attendance, the summer following their 21st birthday. All pupils on admission must have a reputation of 7 unless special circumstances are approved by me! Those who fall below that may be booted at Evelyn's discretion. All pupils are pureblooded or halfblooded and exclusively human. The majority of Roses hail from the upper class. Middle class pupils may be daughter/ward of a WG member, Ministry department head, Healer in Charge, or Fancy Industry Dude.
THE SCHOOL YEAR | The year runs from the first Sunday in September through the last Saturday in April. The fifth of December through the fifth of January, as well as the Easter week-end, is designated as "family time", though boarders may remain at additional cost.
Students may board at the school or be delivered by a relative or designate each weekday morning and retrieved each evening/afternoon.
Classes and mealtimes follow a set schedule each week. Tuesdays boast formal luncheons with Mrs. Abercrombie and a guest or two of her choosing, while Thursday suppers are always formal affairs, often boasting guests from within society!
Free time is to be spent on-premises, released into the care of a relation, or attending chaperoned outings to locations such as Padmore Park and Hogsmeade's High Street. Guests wishing to call on pupils are asked to do so on Friday afternoons.
THE PREMESIS | (Located in Swallowbury 1884-1891, Wellingtonshire's Minister's Avenue from 1891 on) The school itself is tasteful and well appointed, with a door on the ground floor that leads nowhere most of the time but opens onto a ballroom for special occasions (one the floor plan does NOT account for). The grounds are well-kept, and large hedges mark the boundary of the garden. The only way onto the property is via the front door and past Conrad, the butler—neither floo nor aparition work on site, though individuals may apparate onto the street in front of the school.
There are a total of twelve rooms available to borders.
THE POLICIES |❧ All young ladies are expected to be in full and appropriate muggle attire at all times, unless bathing or sleeping or going to a place that wizarding attire is preferred.
❧ Any young lady who so chooses may attend church services at St. Fergus’ on Sundays; a chaperon will be provided.
❧ Mrs. Abercrombie may, if she chooses, elect to send some or all young ladies in her care to various social functions.
❧ Any impertinent conduct or breaking of the above policies shall result in a strike in the student’s ledger. Three strikes will result in an immediate expulsion—without refund.
❧ Any indecent conduct is grounds for immediate expulsion from the school—without refund.
THE NUMBERS | Tuition is not cheap, though the option to live at home does save a few galleons. Only the practically-UC-of-the-MC could consider sending more than one daughter at a time. UC on the verge of bankruptcy are in the same boat.
