Philip hadn’t had much time to learn how to interact with his eldest daughter since having his own mind again (but he was confident he would not do worse than his father, subterranean bar that that made). Still, in her young years, she had already lost one brother too many: so he was determined that she would see no more distress like that again.

Dear Philippa,

I hope you are enjoying your time at Hogwarts?

I don’t know whether you will have heard of the events last night in London: there was a dragon attack on the river. I only write to assure you that we are all well. Certainly as well as we can be. We were out at the time of the attack and your brother was injured in the chaos, but the healers are taking good care of him now and assure us he will make a full recovery. Both your mother and I are unharmed and Florence is also well, so you must not worry for anything.

Make sure you write to your mother if there is anything you require.

Affectionately, your father,
Philip Rowle

Pippa Rowle was not sure which was more startling: the fact that there had been a dragon attack, the fact that her father had written to her, or the fact that in writing, he had noted the attack after 'hoping she was enjoying her time' at Hogwarts.

Dearest Father,

I am so grateful to learn you are all well—we heard, of course, of the incident in London here at Hogwarts, and though I did not fall to hysterics as some did, I confess I was anxious to learn that our family was safe. It is good of you to write to me to assuage my nerves!

School is well. I have quickly proved to be a deft hand at potions, and hope to continue to excel in my studies elsewhere.

With duty and affection,
Pippa Philippa

Philip had laughed outright at her talk of not falling to hysterics. No, he could not imagine that any Rowle child had ever been allowed hysterics.

Dear Philippa,

Albert is now back at home and much recovered. He has been forced to wear an eyepatch to protect his injured eye, just for a little while – though you must not tell him I told you so, or tease him when you next see him. Tempting though it may be.

I’m sure you’ll do very well in your studies. First years still have a few flying lessons, is that so? How have you found those?

Affectionately, your father,
Philip Rowle
