I've been rewatching The League - and there would Definitely be a fantasy quidditch league in Hogwarts. Pretty casual, more of a plot point, than something that would require active, ongoing threading. Most of the threads would likely come from where someone has an especially bad week, or makes a side bet and has to do their forfeit.

The person who did the worst in the previous year also has to do some sort of public forfeit (having to sing 'Three Little Maids from school' at dinner - that sort of thing) (volunteers welcome for last years loser)

Teachers are also aware that this is going on, because it's been happening for years, with students just organising themselves, as long as it stays innocent, the level piece of silliness doesn't rise to reputational damage or detentions.

The characters it might interest would be any student with an interest in quidditch. The prize is mostly just bragging rights.

Cad is the commissioner of the league, meaning he does the organization, but anyone can join. Might be of particular interest to those who fancy themselves as sponsors, captains, or coaches one day!

If there was interest we could do a very quick 'draft' of the quidditch players, so people know who they are rooting for, or so trading can be part of the thread context? Scores and final results would be pulled at random from room of requirement on discord. It's mostly a texture/thread inspiration item - so a good way for students who don't have any other reason to interact to be in a thread together - to cite Foxx - 'thread lubricant'
