Trouble,
This seems oddly familiar, no? Just checking in, hope everything is going alright.
Miss you,

delicious biceps brought to you by MJ!
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.Where will you fall?

Comforting though. I missed these back and forth letters. They probably won't be able to be as frequent, unfortunately. I promise to send at least one a day.
Everything is going as smoothly thus far. I would start babbling about kiwis but I don't think you would believe me anymore.
How is everything at home? Did you find my present yet?
Don't get distracted, I need you to come home in once piece. It is comforting to know you can communicate a little bit. Things are alright. This transfigured-kidnapped-people-turned-creatures is quite the operation, feels like half the Ministry has been pulled in, myself included. Will certainly keep us busy for the month.
I have not found a present yet, give me a hint?
Not distracted, promise. We worked it out so we both have a few hours every day to rest, so that's when I read your letters and respond. I'll come back to you.
It's quite comical in a way, all those people becoming circus animals. Has everyone been accounted for yet?
The present is either in our bedroom, the kitchen, or the office. You'll know it when you find it.
That's good, rest is important. Hopefully everything goes according to plan.
We haven't accounted for everyone yet, but we aren't exactly sure how to check every animal we come across in town either. I had to reach out to the Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts to see if he could assist. I got some useful information and he'll come down to help out if necessary.
I am still not finding the present, but I suppose I will come across it eventually. Hopefully it isn't perishable. I had cook bake some cookies for you and your partner. I hope you enjoy.
That does sound difficult. Has there been any fear of the animals disappearing into the woods around town? A disoriented person might not be able to make wise decisions.
I'll narrow the search down to our office. Let me know if you need any further hints. It's not perishable or something that'll be useless if not immediately discovered.
It's really hard to tell. We assume most of the transfigured people are trying to stay local and be found out, so at least there's that. I don't know how much of their human consciousness they have while transfigured, the reports have varied to those we've recovered, but we've only got a few people left to collect.
I'll have to take a closer look at the office tomorrow, I'm bushed from today. I am naturally intrigued, but I feel like it'll a bittersweet thing to find it, this mysterious gift.
Missing you.
I only hope no one used the suddenly large number of disappearing people to satisfy their own agendas. Are the investigators on the case as well? I can't see Prewett deeming this the work of a dark wizard.
Perhaps so. I apologize if it's lost its excitement. If you don't find it by tomorrow I'll confess to where it is.
Do you remember horseback riding near the coast? Those memories are keeping me afloat when I start to miss you terribly. I so wish we were back there rather than apart, or at the very least I wish we were able to sleep at home on our down time. It's only been a week and I'm already sick of the cold and sleeping on the ground. Hopefully we can come home soon.
