Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
The troupe had been staying at the Sanditon Terrace but mayhem had struck the place so the troupe had decided to move to different lodging after making sure that they were all okay. No one had died so there was that though they were shaken up because they had Seen Things. Luckily, they had found alternate lodging quickly enough. They were currently in London to sight see and do a bit of shopping. Tariq could not help but wonder if his great grandfather had ever been to London. As far as he knew his lot came straight out of Liverpool when they had been transplanted into America.
His experience so far in the UK had been odd. He could swear someone had been calling out to him the other day but they had been saying Ishmael. He'd never even heard that name before. They were probably confused, he had eventually figured. As the troupe moved ahead of him, Tariq stayed back and lit up a cigarette.
Tariq looks just like Ishmael except.. alive, not pale, not a vampire, etc.
If your character knows Ishmael, they might initially mistake Tariq for him.
He hadn't been sure until he saw him up close, but no, that had to be Ishmael, looking — far more vivid than Kieran had ever seen him, and he hadn't been aware that vampires could light cigarettes, but whatever.
"You have got to be shitting me," Kieran said when he finally got closer to Ishmael, because he could have had a hundred guesses as to what Ishmael did with his spare time and "joining a theater troupe" would not have been on the list.
Tariq was visibly taken aback by the man who seemed to be speaking to him. "I beg your pardon?" Tariq asked, mildly offended at this rather rude outburst from a complete stranger. "Do I know you?" He doubted it. All his kinfolk that might still be around here were from Liverpool as far as he knew.

Ishmael was pretending to be all offended about it, and Kieran visibly rolled his eyes. "This is a ridiculous con, even for you," he said, with a wave at the troupe. He'd known that Ishmael could be over-dramatic, but come on.
"I think perhaps you have me confused for someone else?" Tariq said with a mild frown, waving his friends ahead. "I have never done a con in my life, ridiculous or otherwise!"

Kieran snorted. "And you don't have to put on a different voice for me, Ishmael, come on," he said, not entertaining for a moment the thought that this wasn't a con.
"My name is Tariq Zahir. Not Ishmael," Tariq said in exasperation. "This voice is merely my voice." Though he could speak in other voices and accents on command, that was very much not the case here when he was speaking in his own American accent.

Kieran blinked, confused. He looked the man over again. Still not convinced, Kieran reached out to poke him in the wrist — if he wasn't a vampire, he would be warm, and then apparently Ishmael just had a fucking doppelgänger.
Tariq jerked his wrist away after the mans finger poked it. "Are you some sort of madman?" Then again, he doubted a madman would admit it. Did this area of London just let their deranged wander about and poke people?

"Why do people keep calling me Ishmael?" Tariq asked in some exasperation. Did he really look so much like some other bloke? The other names were vaguely familiar but he couldn't really say why that might be.

Kieran took another step back. "That's between you and Merlin," he said. The man would figure it out sooner or later, or he'd get killed by someone who was out to get Ishmael — and either way, Kieran didn't want to spend much time too close to him.
"You are an odd, strange man," Tariq declared before hurrying away from the stranger to catch up with his troupe.
