Dear NPC Name*,
[general pleasantries here]

I am sorry that I will not be able to attend your birthday party. I was looking forward to it but that lady got kidnapped and other people are missing so my mother thinks Hogsmeade is too dangerous right now. I did want to send you this gift though. It is a really good book so I hope you enjoy it. It does not have that story I told you the last time I visited you because I made that one up. But these ones have a similar style.

Do let me know what you think!

Sincerely,
Lincoln Dashwood

Ludwig Minty

*Owl was addressed to another child whose name is similar to 'Ludwig Minty'. Owl went "eh, close enough" and wouldn't leave until Ludwig wrote back and accepted the book of wizarding fairy tales.

Dear Lincoln Dashwood,

I’m not quite sure I understand what happened here but I think your owl came to my window by mistake? Unless perhaps you’re from Hogwarts? The man that came by to explain everything on my birthday did mention that the mail will come by owls.

I tried to get the owl to go back outside with the book but it pecked at me until I took it. I promise I will take really good care of your book though! My sister caught me reading it so now she’s making me read them out loud to her before we go to bed every night. We both love it so far! These fairytales are far more interesting then the ones my Ma and Pa used to tell us. Don't worry, I haven't let her touch it so it's still in really good condition.

If you’re able to tell me how to convince the owls to take the book back I will try my best to get it back to you so you can give it to your friend. I feel bad keeping their birthday present.

Also I don't know what Hogsmeade is but it sounds really scary. I hope you're okay.

Sincerely,
Ludwig Minty

Dear Mr. Ludwig Minty,

I am not from Hogwarts but I will be going there soon. From what you are saying, you are a muggleborn? How does it feel to find out that you are a magical person?

I am sorry that my owl pecked you. I hope she didn't break skin or hurt you. Owl beaks can be brutal.

Don't worry about the book, you can have it. I can get something else for my friend. Or if you are insistent on giving it back, you can consider it borrowed until we meet. Because if you're going to Hogwarts, we will meet soon enough. I will be attending in September of 1892.

Hogsmeade is a magical town and sometimes things happen there.
Sincerely,
Lincoln Dashwood
