Mother,

Your words did shake me, but I cannot back down. It's too late and I don't want to seem a coward. I did bring this upon me, to an extent. I was also unlucky to cross paths with Reuben Crouch, who seems to bring misfortune to anyone who happens to be in his vicinity.

The bright side is that if I die tomorrow, it will be by one of my preferred ways.
