January 8th, 1891 — Hogwarts Corridors

To have two of Hogwarts' seventh year girls up at this hour not only seemed wrong, but it made no sense. Professors had just assigned their term projects, and seventh years were expected to be alert so they could begin a rigorous study routine for their upcoming hours, but no—they were up at ungodly hours of the night wandering the fourth-floor corridors as if guarding Professor Vane's classroom from, what? An onslaught of vicious third-years? It made no sense and she might had said something, but she would not complain—could not, even!—in the presence of her cousin, who would undoubtedly turn it against her. She always found a way.

She would just have to remind [head boy] that patrols with Seneca were a non-option for her from now on when it was his turn to divvy out patrol assignments for the week.

They made their way through the corridor, and Frida was just considering telling Seneca that their night would be more productive one floor down, when something that looked like a rat flew across the floor. Frida jumped and pointed her lit wand in the direction, only letting out a sigh in relief when she discovered it was not a rat, but a loose piece of paper.

WARNING: SEXUAL LANGUAGE

Seneca shared her cousin's displeasure with their task. Patrolling had always been her least favourite part of her prefect duties. Couldn't they enlist ghosts to be Hogwarts' night guard? They could even fly through walls to catch anyone doing anything improper. She would much rather be with Gretchen, or Cora, or even Sage, than Frida. At least with them she had things to talk about, to make time fly faster.

She was also startled by the sudden noise, but still rolled her eyes at her cousin.

"It's just a piece of paper, Frida," Seneca pointed out for good measure. She stepped towards it and knelt to pick it up.

A shiver flew up Seneca's spine. It took some moments for her to register what was being depicted. The first thing her eyes registered was the breasts, seeing that she had a pair of them on her own. She was lying on large pillows. One hand was lost in the bushy triangle Seneca also had between her legs. The other hand held some kind of worm that was attached to another triangle, which appeared to belong to a man. She registered that it was moving last. Her hands did circular motion on her triangle and she brought her mouth close to the worm.

Seneca's hair had turned white.

Frida's cowardice had rarely served her well in her time at Hogwarts, but for once she found herself thanking the Lord for her hesitance in this particular situation. Never in her years of knowing her cousin had Frida seen her look so stiff, so white—literally, in this situation—and it prompted her brows to crease with concern for her cousin that she hadn't know was there.

"What is it?" she hissed in the dark, unwilling to look without hearing it. (God, was it a cursed image?)

Seneca didn't know exactly what she had seen, but she knew that nothing involving naked people was good, or respectable. In spite of that, she couldn't help herself from looking at it again, particularly towards the worm in the woman's hands. What was that. Was it some kind of creature leached to the man's triangle? Was it something all men had? Why was she putting it in her mouth? It was so dirty, that was the part of the body where urine came out of, and yet she seemed to be delighted.

Frida's question brought Seneca back to reality a bit. She looked towards her, at loss of what to do.

She quickly decided that she wasn't going to get traumatized alone!

"Look," Seneca whispered and passed the picture into Frida's hands. She then quickly looked around them, suddenly paranoid that someone would walk into them.

Nothing good ever came from being alone with Seneca, did it?

Frida reluctantly took the image in her hand, all the while telling herself that it was her responsibility as head girl to ensure that Hogwarts was safe, and—well, that thought process ended as quick as it came. Her mouth parted in abject horror, first at the sight of a naked breast, but then at the sight of... in God's name was was that?

"Is that his...?" His what? Nether regions? Possibly—obviously, even—but that didn't answer what it was. It was nothing she had!

"She's putting it in her mouth!" Seneca hissed with disgust. As much as the photo had scandalized her, she couldn't help herself from looking at it, as was the case with anything that was forbidden.

Seneca had said it, not her. Still, Frida could not help but wonder if that was how babies were made. Kristoffer had said things in the past that hinted to a certain intimacy between men and women, but never had she thought of it beyond the general shock of being spoken to with such crudeness.

But like Seneca, Frida was unable to take her eyes off of it. It made her stomach turn, but in the same way, it sparked curiosity. Frida's cheeks turned pink as she watched the woman in the picture run her hands down her own body, and one question came her mind: Why?

"We shouldn't be looking at it," she whispered, suddenly thrusting the picture back into Seneca's hands. Her cheeks were still pink. "I don't know why it's at Hogwarts, but we need to get rid of it." She might have turned any other illicit materials in, but this seemed to obscene, too embarrassing even for that.

How naive Frida was. As if it was that hard to sneak questionable things inside Hogwarts. Over their two and a half years as prefects, they had caught students drinking and smoking. Surely a mere picture was much easier to sneak inside than a bottle of firewhiskey. That being said, why should anyone be carrying the photo around the castle and carelessly leaving it in a corridor, where anyone could find it. Surely, such pictures were hard to come by. If Seneca had done all the hard work of procuring dirty pictures, she would have made sure they remained safely in her possession.

When Frida mentioned their duty, Seneca felt a deep need to protect the forbidden item. She felt as though she held hot iron with it in her hands, and yet she didn't fully want to get rid of it. She was drawn to look at the picture. She felt the same fascination as when she had first learned about the Unforgivable Curses.

"Well, why didn't you just burn it instead of giving it to me?" Seneca hissed. She regained her composure somewhat and offered in a softer tone. "You're curious, aren't you? Why are they doing this?" Maybe she could gaslight Frida into thinking she was the one fascinated by dirty pictures and investigate this further.

She could burn it, of course, but that would make her responsible if anyone found out that they'd had it and not returned it. Frida was not above pinning the blame on Seneca in this situation, as she was the one who picked it up to begin with!

"I don't want anything to do with it," she hissed back, unable to reconcile her responsibilities with her shame and embarrassment. Seneca could do what she pleased with it, as long as she was not involved. "It's none of my business, whether I'm curious or not. Best to keep it out of sight and out of mind, don't you agree?" What Seneca didn't know—or so she hoped—was that the image was unlikely to leave her memory anytime soon.

If it was Gretchen with her...

Seneca was perfectly aware of how scandalous the picture was and how inappropriate looking at it was. However, it had captured her curiosity and she wanted to find out more about whatever it was that those two people were doing. If some people risked so much to be looking at such pictures and worse yet, presumably do those actions, then it had to be worth it.

"Well, you are the Head Girl, you should be the one responsible for its fate, should you not?" Seneca offered and pushed the photograph back to Frida's hands. Frida was so pathetic, she couldn't even get rid of a picture!

"I am head girl, but unless you would prefer we deliver it to Professor Darrow together right now, I suggest you take it," she said, a challenge, because Frida could not imagine anything more embarrassing and she assumed Seneca felt similarly. Besides, Frida did not trust herself enough to get rid of it alone. She may not have possessed the same interest in forbidden topics as her cousin, but this was different from dark and illegal magic. Somehow. It was alluring and yet embarrassing, and she felt as if the only thing keeping her eyes off of it was Seneca's presence. God save her.

"Take it and do what, hide it amongst my underwear?" Seneca hissed. If Frida wasn't with her, it would be tempting.

No.

No she was not like that. She didn't need some dirty picture in her possession. However, curiosity was killing her!

In any case, Frida's inability to take initiative was getting on Seneca's nerves. She had no option but to destroy it.

She turned off the light from her wand and then pointed it at the picture. With a flick of her wand, she burned it. A light blue flame obliterated it completely.

"See, it was that simple."

The color in Frida's cheeks deepened at her words, and Frida opened her mouth to scold her cousin for speaking so crudely. She could handle her adventures into dark and illegal magic, but perversion is where she crossed the line!

Fortunately there was no need to cause anymore of a scene. Seneca snatched the photo and burned it to ash. Never again would she lay eyes upon it—a thought that, to her surprise, left her feeling both relieved and disappointed.

"Good," she said in a strained voice, straightening her back. Now that it was out of sight, she needed it out of mind.
