Despite having no appetite, Fallon did as instructed, shoveling bites in and swallowing without even really chewing. Today would likely be another long day at work and she couldn't afford to be starving by mid-morning. Malou was, as always, right in this regard.

Most of her plate was cleared when Malou returned carrying the case Fallon swore never to partake in. Not that Malou really offered, but rouge wasn't something Fallon preferred to wear. "I meant a charm of some sorts..." she said in a slight state of disbelief. Surely, Malou didn't expect her to go to work wearing makeup. The guys would laugh her out of the office!

  

A glance at Fallon’s plate told her that at least she had listened on that regard. “Yes, I know what you meant.” Malou brushed Fallon off lightly. “But charms only go so far.” She opened the small box and armed herself with her wand first. “Besides, don’t you trust me to make it look like you aren’t wearing anything?” She added teasingly in an attempt to try and lighten the mood. Malou wasn’t much more of a fan of cosmetics than Fallon, in fact the box was often forgotten in her room, but she did have an idea how to use a little and make it appear none was on.

Oh, Merlin.

She finished her last bite of food and turned to grant Malou better access to her face. Fallon trusted her roommate implicitly, moreso than anyone else on the planet, but cosmetics always made her feel antsy. Like she was a child fantasizing about being a princess while remaining a pauper.

"I won't wear anything on my lips," Fallon warned. The single time she'd done that she looked utterly ridiculous. Merlin, what had she gotten herself into? If only Jesse had been able to fully stop her tears. "But I trust your judgement always."

  

“Absolutely not.” Malou agreed as she set to work. It didn’t take her long, or much makeup beyond a bit of power to even out the circles under her eyes, but Fallon looked almost as good as normal. Only her eyes stayed sad and almost haunted, but there was nothing Malou could do about that.

“There you go.” Malou announced summoning her hand mirror so Fallon could inspect herself. “No lipstick and almost as good as new.”

Grateful as ever for Malou, Fallon forced herself to stay still as a statue as her makeup was applied. The cosmetics were a bit heavy feeling on her face, and she certainly had to fight the temptation to rub it all away, but her reflection in the mirror proved it all worth it. "Thank you," she said to Malou in earnest. All in all, she looked nearly perfectly alike to her normal self. "You're a saint. And now, we must get ourselves ready for work."

What a long day it would be.
