What: A Fern Finding Frolic in the Forest (as suggested by Kayte)
Who: Camilla Zabini is hosting, primarily for the Upper Class, but well connected MC people could procure an invite as well. Attendees should have decent reputations as a general rule. WC would be there as staff only or party crashers.
Where: A countryside manor, with woods in proximity.
Why: To celebrate the arrival of fall and appreciate nature, like cultured people do. Also Camilla wants to meet men and assert her dominance as a society lady.
When: Saturday, September 28th
Back in the old timey days, ferns were all the rage and so were fern hunting parties. Eager to capitalize on trends, Camilla is throwing her own spin on this one.

This is to be a day long wander around a cordoned off section of the woods where ferns native to Britain are known to grow. Camilla has also seen to it that a few exotic samples from afar are hidden about the place for ~excitement.

A party and a competition all at once, guests are encouraged to eat, drink, and be merry, while hunting for ferns. There will be plenty of staff on call, given the monumental task of hefting food and alcohol all over the place for their UC overlords. Blankets will be provided for those who wish to picnic in the forest and on the lawn of the manor. The manor will also be open to those who wish to rest or schmooze without trekking through the woods all day. Fern inspired dress is encouraged, but not required.

Guests are allowed to keep any ferns they collect - including the exotics - which is a prize in itself (seriously, the Victorians were crazy about ferns). Extra prizes will be given to guests who collect the most ferns overall.

The party begins at noon and officially ends whenever the sun sets. Unofficially, people are free to linger.

What: A Safari Through Canvas
Who: Hosted by Miss Adelia Lovegood for upper class and upper middle class folk
Where: The Lovegood home in Wellingtonshire, Hogsmeade
Why: Ada went to Africa and took a bunch of photos and painted some fancy ass magical paintings of animals and she wants to show everyone so people will want to not-hire her to do art for them. IT'S PERFECTLY RESPECTABLE IF SHE DOESN'T GET PAID FOR IT.
When: September 30th, the early evening of
Some of the downstairs rooms of the house will be essentially a walk through gallery of moving oil paintings of varying dimensions, moving photographs, moving sketches. All of the artwork will depict African animals magical and mundane, as well as African landscapes. The most impressive piece is a 10ft canvas of elephants and it appears to be the feature of the exhibition, mainly because Ada discovered a soft spot for elephants and decided to go overboard with her free time.

Canapes and drinks will be available.
