Esteban would have liked for the new bill to be more universal about who got to vote but this was better than nothing. At least when it came to women now being able to vote if they worked or owned property. It was also a good thing previous voters would be grandfathered in as some people, even men, would now probably not be able to vote. After all, he knew quite a few people that did not technically have an employer and rented rather than owned their property.

He clapped as the Ministers wife signed the registry. "What do you think of all this?" He asked of a couple of the people around him. Personally, he was optimistic about it. Life was a lot more fun if you looked on the bright side of things.

Although it would only encourage "Agatha," Zelda had not been able to resist coming down for Mrs. Dempsey's voter registration. She was going to be able to vote, and all because she'd come back to the Ministry! Zelda was thrilled, and knew that she ought to hide it. But she still beamed when the Minister's wife signed the registry, and was still smiling when she turned around at the man's question.

"I'm excited, I think," she informed him, against her better judgment.

Leo had kept quiet about how ridiculous the minister’s wife looked with the giant quill, just like he kept quiet about how ridiculous this whole thing was. Out of all the things this minister wanted to be known for, he chose women’s rights? There were worse problems to be dealt with. He was only here because it would look worse if he wasn’t, although Leo had kept toward the back of the crowd, his lips pursed into a thin line.

It wasn’t until he heard the question – and the woman pipe up – that he finally turned to speak. “I think it’s a shame Mrs. Dempsey was the first to sign. She looks displeased, doesn’t she?” Well, she didn’t look thrilled.
