VICTORIA HUNTER

B. 1874/5 | MCHB | HUFFLEPUFF | BATCHELORETTE (2nd season)

Victoria is the older sister of Benedict and the daughter of middle class parents that own several pet shops including one in hogsmeade. Her parents stretched their finances to ensure both children attended Hogwarts and Victoria graduated her NEWTS in the summer of 1893. She is actively seeking a husband.

Her and Benedict are very close, she is probably his best friend and he misses her since she left hogwarts. She likewise loves her little brother in return and writes letters to him at school. Suggested face claim is Cara Bossom.

Personality isn't set in stone but she is a good, kind hearted person who loves her family and is relatively happy with her direction in life. Her profession is open but it shouldn't be something that would come between her and finding a good husband.

PENÉLOPE PODMORE

B. 1865 | UCHB | HUFFLEDOR | WIFE

Catalina's sister, dearest friend, and greatest supporter, Penélope married Clinton Podmore in late 1885/early 1886. Her second pregancy was a very difficult one, making her anxious now that she has learned she is expecting once again—she might deliver any time from June '94 to January '95. Penélope lives primarily in the countryside. Growing up, she was considered to be pretty, kind, patient and, to their father, obedient—at least until she sided with Catalina. Since marrying (not for love, though it may have bloomed in the years since) she has grown more confident and outspoken, while still recognizing the norms of society. Along with Lina and Julián, she is one of the more religious of the Flores children. Suggested PB is Diane Guerrero.

The dutiful son. A bit of a hellion in his earliest years, his mother's perishing in the Laughing Plague (and his own near-death experience with the illness, from which his constitution never fully recovered) sobered him considerably even while still at Hogwarts. Of the Flores children, he is most like their father: traditional, stubborn, and loyal to the family—though not always their individual ideas as to what is best. He often tries to play peacemaker between Lina and their father when she is home and is, along with Lina and Penélope, one of the more religious of the Flores children.

The fun-loving son. A bit of a hellion in his earliest years, Álvaro matured into a young man who still very much has a sense of fun; he is young enough that he is still rather selfish, though not in a malicious way. He is the least religious of the Flores children, attending services only when explicitly prompted by his father. He would much rather engage in whatever his passions happen to be or things that bring him joy and, though he loves her, sometimes uses Lina's disobedience as excuse for his own 'bad' behaviour.

The youngest of the Flores children, Esmeralda has truly been marked by the absence of a mother in her life, always looking to her elder sisters and House Matron for advice and as examples. She is "wilder" than Teodora (indeed, perhaps the wildest of her siblings) but wants to be well behaved. She often struggles to stay focused and is something of a daydreamer in her classes and in her lessons with a governess. Suggested PB is Jenna Ortega.

JUAN ANTONIO FLORES SALAZAR

The son of a man of the Spanish Ministry of Magic, Juan Antonio grew up in a household where compassion was the watchword, a number of muggleborn children passing through the household after being cast out of their own. He took his wife's death hard, doubling down on ensuring his children had everything they needed to thrive in life (well, to thrive the way he expected them to) to make up for the loss of a parent. Had he attented Hogwarts, Juan Antonio would have been in Slytherin. He has always been stubborn and leans more traditional in his expectations of his children, but is genorous (by Victorian standards) to those less fortunate. He wants to mend fences with Lina, but something within him will not let him, resulting in things between them being strained, to say the least. Suggested PB is Benjamin Bratt.

The Kensingtons

A large UCHB family, Willa and her siblings were raised by parents who loved each other and whose mother Tallulah Kensington firmly believes in love. The only thing their father might arguably love more than his wife is traveling — he is abroad often, though would never miss an important family event like a wedding or birth. In a whimsical move, the children were named alphabetically, from both directions at once. (Names here are changeable but should retain the same first letter for both first & middle name).

Zarchariah A. Kensington [born 1866ish] is firmly of a marriageable age and the heir to the estate - the only thing that has saved him from bearing the full force of Mama's marriage-minded machinations is that his sisters have been more in need of attention. Reserved for Nichole.

Yvonne B. -- nee Kensington [born 1868] was married by the time Willa engaged in her first season and has therefore always been a guiding force for Willa. Notably, she explained bedroom activities near the end of Willa's first season to prevent her from doing anything stupid due to naivete. She probably married her husband for love; at the very least she would have been encouraged to by Mama.

Xavier Kensington [born 1871] went on tour after school and discovered that he picked up their father's penchant for traveling; he either has or desires a career that allows him to spent copious amounts of time abroad. Too young to be looking for a wife, he enjoys teasing both his older brother and Willa when it comes to the demands of the season. PLAYED BY KIT

Viola E. Kensington [born 1876] is a recent graduate and either debuting this year or going to a year of finishing school first (her choice). She has always been keenly interested in the season and has often pestered her older sisters for stories about it, but now that it's her time to shine may be feeling some slight trepidation (that she probably won't admit to) and definitely some pressure to perform well.

Ursula Kensington [born 1879] is a student in any house (prefect season maybe? she's a blank slate you do what you want here). Played by Dante

The McKinnons, though a respectable family, are a bit of an oddity in London. Having all been adopted by Grace McKinnon, a well off middle class widow, the siblings are not blood-related. All were adopted from the orphanage in a series of fortunate events that all saw them friends beforehand. They play off each other well like any other family, and are especially attuned to each other when it comes to the family grapevine. They are incredibly loyal to each other and like to bond over scrimmaging quidditch as a past time.

All of them sport a ring that they keep on their person at all times — some wear it on a chain around their necks, and others on their hands. Each person has a unique pattern they tap out onto the ring's surface with their wand if they need emergency aid. There are only a handful of times in the past years that a family emergency has been triggered.

Elizabeth “Eliza” McKinnon

Hit Witch/Auror | b. 1863

Despite her job, Eliza is the most patient and mild-mannered of the bunch, and doesn’t like to jump into things too quickly unless it’s to put herself between an innocent and danger (it’s lucky that they all live together, otherwise Derek would run himself ragged with how many times he has to heal Eliza after work). Intelligent, and perceptive, Eliza is a pillar of strength for the McKinnons. When trouble comes, she’s usually the first to jump feet first, elbows out to rally the rest of them. If someone’s in trouble expect her to be the first one there. It’s Eliza and Adam who have taken on the mantle as heads of the family, and as such they often find themselves as the problem solvers. Edith McKinnon

Midwife | b. 1865

The Healer, also dubbed The Worrier by Derek, Edie spends half her time worrying about her older siblings, and the other amount of times worried about her younger siblings. She's always been a bit more timid than the others, but no less eager to join the family in their weekly scrimmage. Dedicated to her work, Edie is often out of the house on calls for clients. She is an Optimist and Romantic and hopes to find a husband, however she is absolutely adamant that they be approved by her brothers and sisters. Pictured is Sophie Nelisse with alternatives completely open.

Isabeau McKinnon

Reporter | b. 1868

It’s a toss up between Isabeau and Eliza for who gives their brothers the most grey hairs. If Eliza is willing to put herself between a citizen and a dark wizard without a second thought, Isabeau doesn’t really pay attention to any of guidelines that she should, unless it’s to chide one of her siblings for putting themselves in danger. She’s called on Derek more than once to help get her out of the oddest situations, and once fished out she usually heads right back in. With ink stained hands and spectacles that often get lost, Isabeau’s curiosity is bound to get the better of her one of these days. The family can hardly blame her though, and they usually give her a pass. They’ve stopped asking for explanations for her reasons for getting into trouble in the meantime, and Isabeau is hoping it stays that way. Otherwise she’ll eventually have to provide an explanation for why she’s kept her blood curse a secret for so long. Pictured is Skai Jackson with alternatives to be POC w/ an ingenue vibe.

Jonathan “Jack” McKinnon

Quidditch Captain & Keeper | b. 1858

Together Jack and Derek are often referred to as the Dynamic Duo. Jack is the Chaos while Derek usually tries to rein him in at least a little. Along with Adam they are fiercely protective over their sisters, and Jack often tries to get Edie to agree to more outlandish things in attempts to get her out of her comfort zone. He's had a few Quidditch injuries in the past, but is quite dedicated to the sport; a bit like the Energizer Bunny in real life, Jack is a true extrovert and adrenaline junkie. Derek and Edith are convinced he'll actually be the death of them. Pictured is Tyler Posey with alternatives completely open.

Adam McKinnon

Ministry Employee | b. 1854

The eldest of them all and inheritor of Grace McKinnon’s estate, Adam takes his job as executor extremely seriously (almost too seriously, Jack would say). He is closest to Eliza and would trust her with his life. One might assume he's a bit more tight-laced than the others, but in actuality, he's more enabling than anything. He encourages his sisters in their pursuits even if they're not appropriate in society's eyes, and is a not-so-closeted Romantic as well. Pictured is Sam Heughan with alternatives to have red or blonde hair.

Life probably would have continued as normal, but in 1879 their mother fell pregnant again, dying in 1880 in childbirth for Maeve II and putting a rip in the family dynamic. Life is a Gambol

The Gambol family name once commanded respect. After all, Francis Gambol's own grandmother was the Minister of Magic who introduced the Hogwarts Express! Unfortunately, that respect has gone the way of their financial position: he's all but pissed it away.

ROSALINE GAMBOL

B. 1847 | MCPB | HUFFLEDOR | LONG-SUFFERING WIFE

The matriarch who took matters into her own hands. Young Rosaline knew one thing when she made her debut into society: she would marry for nothing short of love. And marry for love she did—and that love lasted. For a time. The first major blow came with the sale of Gambol Grove. By the late 1880s, she had lost all respect and love for her husband. She took his hair, brewed a potion, faked his identity, sold the Wellingtonshire home, banked all the money, and bought something more practical in Bartonburg. Oh, the family has fallen, to be sure, but Rosaline knows with every ounce of herself that, if left to his own devices, Francis would have ruined them even further.

Today, she controls the purse strings, gives her husband an allowance that he may spend as he likes, and does everything in her power to make the budget work. They have only a house elf for staff, they repeat outfits and, if she had any actual skills, Rosaline would get a job (leaving school with only three NEWTs when one was raised to be a society wife does rather leave one lacking). No matter: seeing to her family is a full-time gig anyways. But perhaps, just a little time for her... some external romance...

FRANCIS GAMBOL

B. 1833 | MCPB | SLYTHERDOR | LOW-STATUS MINISTRY

The patriarch with delusions of grandour. At eight years old, Francis Gambol declared he would be Minister of Magic, just like Grandmama had been. At thirteen years old, he took his first Divination class—he had no talent for it himself, but became fascinated with the idea of omens and prognostication. At nineteen, though, Francis bet on his first boxing match. Shame the ill effects of that weren't in his tea leaves that morning.

Francis Gambol is a man who always assumed there would be more, simply because he had never been given to think the opposite; he is also a man who has always thought the world owed him more because of the family and influence into which he was born. The steady march towards death (well, middle class) hit him incredibly hard, and yet he could not stop the gambling, for he was well and truly an addict. Then his wife played her gambit. Things have been, understandably, quite cool between them since then.

He had to get a job, one altogether beneath his dignity, but at least it gets him away from her, and he can say it's a stepping stone towards a later bid for Minister of Magic (never mind that he's past sixty and has no political experience). He still believes in his signs and his seers, and is convinced that his children—each named by a seer—have glorious futures ahead of them, in spite of his accidental efforts to the contrary. Suggested PB is Richard E. Grant.

PROSPER GAMBOL

B. 1875 | MCPB | OPEN HOUSE | MINISTRY OF MAGIC

The eldest son, altogether underqualified for this. Growing up, Prosper was destined for greatness, to hear his father tell it. Funny, he hasn't felt great, not since the true circumstances his family faced were brought to light. Had his mother let him, Prosper would have left Hogwarts then, would have immediately sought work; he is glad she insisted he finish his education, but feels he is decidedly underqualified for the position he has landed. And for most things, actually. Suggested PB is Louis Partridge; alternatives should have dark hair.

BENEDICT GAMBOL

A bright spot in strenuous situations. Growing up, and indeed, to this day, Benedict was often called Egg by his siblings, owing to his nickname from infancy, when he went for eons without an actual name. He finds this nickname embarrassing, of course, but it has cemented him as the fun Gambol, the one who will do all he can to lighten the mood. This is a weight upon him, really: he is often reluctant to reveal any negative feelings to those in his family, resulting in their being bottled up more often than not. Suggested PB is Archie Yates; alternatives should have dark hair.

A dark cloud on even the sunniest of days. Serendipity was the last child to join the Gambol family, arriving when they were already in their descent. Unlike Benedict, she has always tended to be rather dour, sharing her father's fascination with omens, though only ever noting the bad ones. Of all the children, she is the only one who does not have a complicated relationship with Francis; the two balance each other well, her grounded, him fanciful. This does, however, result in a more strained relationship with her mother. Suggested PB is Holly Lawton; alternatives should have dark hair.

Named for their shared great-grandmother, Ottaline's mother is Francis' sister, making her and Fran cousins. Ottaline has always been one to stand up for what she believes is right and for those she cares about, and so she was quick to support her cousin-slash-closest-friend and cut those who wouldn't from her acquaintance when the shit hit the fan. She's the sort who doesn't set out to be remembered, but likely will be, and is very skilled in her subject of choice.

Ottaline likely has siblings, but their ages are up to you. Pictured PB is Louisa Harland with alternatives to be white or mixed-race.

"Isabella" and Fran clicked right out of the gate during their earliest days at Hogwarts, forming a tidy little sextet with Ottaline, "Guinevere", and two others. But reputation, it seemed, was more important to her than friendship, and she was swift to make it clear that she had no room in her circle for Harmony Frances Gambol. And thus, the rift, tearing the group in two.

Unbeknownst to "Isabella", who rather struggles with her schoolwork due to what would be diagnosed today as dyslexia, she's been paying Fran to write her essays for years. Unbeknownst to everyone else, the tides are turning within her own family, and it's possible that they might be the next to fall...

The Picardy Heir

CRISPIN PICARDY

B.1879 | UCPB | ANY HOUSE | PB: WILL POULTER
This is anti-werewolf extremist Professor Picardy’s poor forgotten son, Crispin. His mother died from a werewolf attack soon after he was born, and since then Crispin was raised on that same country estate, with only the company of his nannies, tutors, and fussy grandmother. Emerett spent little to no time with him and probably prefers to be addressed as ‘Father’ or ‘Sir’, though will feel obliged to take more of an interest the older he gets. Crispin’s personality, values, and attitudes to werewolves are all totally open, but at the same time Emerett is not glowing with pride about him, so he is probably some level of unpopular, a misfit, bad at school or bullied for some other reason. He could be an incoming fourth or fifth year in any house.

The steady hand to the tiller. He is everything one could want in a first born son. As the head of the family, (XXXXXX) takes his responsibilities very seriously. He feels a profound sense of duty to protect and provide for his siblings and uphold the family's honor. He often struggles with balancing his personal desires with his responsibilities. His sense of duty often leads him to suppress his own feelings and aspirations. (XXXXXX) can be quite stubborn and resolute, especially when he believes he is acting in the best interest of his family. This sometimes leads to conflicts with his siblings, in particular Ephram, who he sees as reckless and feckless. He is close with his siblings - even Ephram, he just wishes that Ephram took fewer risks with his business and his life in general.

There is capacity for other children to be in the middle - at least one daughter, and one other child.

XXXXX is cheerful, playful, and full of energy. He has a lighthearted nature that endears him to his family. He is the youngest and is affectionate, close to his siblings, and doted upon by almost everyone. He is a curious and excitable kid, who is fascinated by Ephram's job and the show. When he is home he spends a good bit of time with him, even if the eldest brother would prefer he was enrolled in flints or did almost literally ANYTHING else. Ephram has sent him a myraid of unique items and nicnaks from his travels and the show.

The Potts Family Players

Cecil Potts [suggested face: Daniel Day-Lewis]	b.1836 | GRHS | married 8 rep | MCHB | Herbologist A hardworking man, Cecil takes his job and duty to his family quite seriously. He does his best to balance work and family, and can often fall short of the latter until his wife makes note. In whatever he does Cecil gives 110%, exceedingly present and involved as much as he can be. Potentially does work or research for the Ministry, or a similar organization with deep enough pockets to supply a home conservatory.
Elizabeth "Beth" Potts [suggested face: Miranda Otto]	b.1841 | GHS | married 8 rep | MCHB | Housewife A homemaker first, Beth presents herself as the quintessential witch and mother. She concerns herself with appearances where she can (sometimes difficult in a family of plant-lovers) and plays the stateswoman of her family. She adapts her approach with her children, loving for the ones who need support, such as her eldest son, and stern with those who need structure, such as her youngest. She likely has hobbies and/or social groups that take her out of the house often, especially ones where she can rep the Potts family name and achievements.
Edmund Potts [suggested face: Max Irons]	b.1863 | GRH | Formerly Married 8 rep | MCHB | Museum Curator A man who had everything he wanted, a stable career and loving wife, and lived up to every ideal instilled in his upbringing. Perhaps some even thought Edmund would make Minister of Magic someday, until it all came crashing down. Either his wife died or they divorced, leaving him with half a heart and a wandering soul. Edmund has done what he can to pick up the pieces of his life, and may be close/back on track from where he was, just several more years behind. He would be closest/in friendly competition with Dorothea, and an example to Edmund until things fell apart.
Fletcher Potts [suggested face: George Sear]	b.1873 | GHS | Single 8 rep | MCHB | Performing Arts A young man emerging from his fledgling years of adulthood, Fletcher pays respect to his family while forging his own path. He has adopted a diligence with his own, balanced with moderation and a love of social exploits. His ideal would have him surrounded by a flock of admirers and followers, perhaps friends, with whom he could collaborate in their careers or personal lives. While he looks up to his older brother, Edmund has learned from his brother and father to find better balance in his life, and from his sister and mother how to stay true to his own guiding light. He is closest with his youngest sister if he is close with any of his siblings, often preferring the company of others beyond his family.

An interest in the dark arts? Idk you tell me!
Easton Harper Guy Remmers	1871 | UCHB | unattached | 8+ rep open respectable occupation Easton has the benefit of three older brothers, so he gets to be young, wild and free for a bit! May have traveled after graduation, has come home to think about an occupation, maybe do something a little more fanciful. Flirty and carefree is where he is in life, but doesn't need to be!
Ember Harper Jessica Burley	1875 | UCHB | unattached | 8+ rep | debutante She could have a late birthday (Sept - Dec) and be a fresh deb, just graduating Hogwarts, or could have a season under her belt already! Wily and charming, she is most like Emmett in personality. She wishes to marry, but whether that is for love, convenience or just a smart match, is open! There are lots of debs this summer to befriend!

Early Sept 1882 | WCHV | 7+ rep An incoming firstie in September of 1894, Connor's surprise arrival was met with Angie's complete departure from the family she had grown up with into the one she had found for herself. Raised by two vampires, the product of a one-night stand between Rebekah Asgaut and Everett Grimm (long before he settled down and married Grace), Connor has wanted for little in life. How this has shaped his personality is up for discussion! Until Angie gets saddled with him this summer for some reason I am open to discuss! As he will be starting Hogwarts in the fall and then living with Angie in London, there's a lot of reasons as to why this could have happened! It's going to throw Ang into a tailspin for a wide variety of reasons. She will have to change jobs, be more available, raise a pre-teen when she is not yet 30 herself, it's going to be wonderfully messy. Angie sent him birthday and Christmas presents from her travels, just small things, as she doesn't hold him accountable for her mother's actions, but their current relationship is open for IC development! Open PB, could definitely be biracial as I'm not fussed about Rebekah's ethnicity, but Everett is obviously white. Everybody knew Angie was adopted, so that is not a concern. Ha, I snagged an MJ <3

"Celia" and Atalanta met their first days at Hogwarts, sharing uncomfortable looks as their dormmate sobbed out of homelessness and simply growing their friendship from there. Like Atty, Celia was always driven, insisting she wanted a career—unlike Atty, she actually followed through on this straight out of Hogwarts. It rankled "Celia" a bit that her friend did not follow suit and instead did the Society rigmarole, and the pair had a handful of strained years. In spite of this, "Celia" is the godmother to Atty's eldest child, and was the first person Atty came to when she was toying with going (albeit a bit late) into healing after all. She later became the godmother to Gregory as well.

If "Celia" married, it was not before the age of thirty and to a man who supports her working (though it's fine if she's just a perma-spinster too). Pictured PB is Thandiwe Newton, but face and ethnicity are both wide open!

Sloane's twin, Sawyer, was lost in infancy a few months after his birth. Presently, she is trying to balance Wally after his accident and Sloane after her return from the "dead". It's not been easy, but she's retired from the ministry now and thrown herself into taking care of her kids. How this is impacting her marriage, friendships and everything else is open!
Beatrice Hatchitt nee — [Pictured as Ruth Gemmell]	THE PROTECTIVE ONE 1844 | OPEN HOUSE| MARRIED 8/9 REP | WIFE AND MOTHER Beatrice Hatchitt has spent most of her life as a caretaker. With seven children, one of whom was sickly for most of her young life, she has never been idle. It all comes naturally, and she worries, of course she does, because none of her children have every made much easier for her. Gabe into the Auror office and his young marriage; Jess and his fast track into the Reversal Squad and his questionable life choices; fortunately Connie (minus her brief rebellious streak) and Victoria haven't been too difficult. Then there is of course, the younger boys and Mercy. Her youngest daughter had been sickly since birth, but she never let it slow her down, so her death from the Laughing Plague in 1884 was a tougher hit than expected. With all of her children out of Hogwarts now, she mostly keeps them under close supervision though tries not to interfere too much. Currently she is keeping a closer eye on Lester's friend, Sloane, after her return from a terrible accident in which she was missing-presumed-dead for nearly a year. The Hatchitts and the Bixbys live next door to one another and many of the children have overlapped or been close over the years. Add in the Potts and the Plunketts and really, they've got Hogsmeade covered.

"Tennyson" (name open) was Dido's charge when she was a governess, born to a muggle family that lived near her parents' home. He is also blind, something that has impacted his studies to varying degrees. When Dido worked with him he was a curious, if cautious, young boy, though that may have changed in the years since. Ideally he is not a massive dick xD Ethnicity and face are wide open, but pictured is Aidan Gallagher.

One of Dido's longest friends, "Sebastian" (name wide open), along with "Leroy", stood up for her when she was being bullied in first year and got stuck with her as a bestie <3 She has always had a bit of a crush on Sebastian, but has never acted on it. He should be unattached to start but does not need to reciprocate her interest at all.

Ideally he would be a professor as well so they can hang out at work, but he could also work for the dept. of education—if the latter, I have Thoughts on getting him into the castle long-term so he should just be a regular departmental employee. A twin to "Leroy", "Lydia" (name flexible) has long been a force of nature. Of the group of friends, she is the one most easily frustrated by Dido's tendency to wander off mentally mid-conversation. Indeed, she is the most easily frustrated full-stop. Never the sort to let anyone say she can't do something, Lydia played quidditch at Hogwarts and later found a more masculine profession in the Ministry of Magic. Deryn Baughan

Generally a decent person, Deryn Baughan was only disappointed that his wife produced a daughter first, rather than a son. He has been a rather indulgent father to his daughters (while also expecting them to excel in life), and though he is stricter with his sons, he's no true disciplinarian. Outside of his family, he certainly has other interests; what those are, however, are up to whomever claims him. Pictured is Ewan McGregor, with alternatives to be dark-haired.

Alys Baughan

b. 1855 | UCHB/PB | Hufflepuff Class of '73/74
Socialite | Rep 10
Raised with magic, Alys (née Geddings) has always had a vision for her family. Luckily for her, she's managed to exceed that vision, with three beautiful daughters and two wonderful sons. She is the one who decides how to discipline her daughters, and is incredibly indulgent with her sons. She expects no less than perfection from her girls. She was expressly disappointed in Gladys's OWLs — two failing grades! Pictured is Emily Blunt, with alternatives to be blonde.

In the case of these particular adopts, I couldn't find decent playby suggestions. As such, I am leaving it up to player discretion, though I'd prefer to know the playby intended before you settle on a character. Their father is half-black, half-Italian, and their mother is most likely white (though she is French). As such, I don't expect accurate playbys, but the closer the better. Names, however, are non-negotiable.

Fortunato Hughes

b. 1861 | UCPB | House Class of '79 | Gentleman of Leisure | Rep 9

The firstborn son. A title like that comes with a lot of pressure in an upper class, pureblood household, but it is a challenge Fortunato has risen to with great aplomb. He may have been employed until quite recently, but once he married (approximately three to five years ago), he moved into the Hughes family estate in Lancashire, and began to take charge of the estate. Beyond the estate and his small, growing family, Fortunato has little to occupy his time. He may have academic or leisurely pursuits beyond the estate's management, but he relies on the estate's income.

Valentino Hughes

b. 1863 | UCPB | House Class of '81 | Healer | Rep 9?
Bachelor
Some might call the second son the spare. Matteo never did. Valentino was always meant to be his own man, just as Matteo's own brothers were. And he really did become his own man. Valentino is, however, definitely Not Straight. Whether he's been caught in the act is up to player discretion, but just know, while Matteo is a loving father in private and absolutely would keep up correspondence via owl, he would publicly ignore his son to protect his other children.

Rosetta née Hughes

b. 1864 | UCPB | House Class of '82 | Proper Socialite | Rep 9
Married
As the first daughter, Rosetta always had almost as much pressure on her as Fortunato did. Pressure to be the perfect daughter. The perfect student. The perfect everything. And somehow, Rosetta didn't crack (outwardly). Her marriage was arranged while she was attending Hogwarts, and the wedding happened in September of 1882. Rosetta is the mother of Matteo's first grandchild, who may be a first year as of 1894 if born in July or August.

Chiara née Hughes

b. 1866 | UCPB | House Class of '84 | Proper Socialite | Rep 9
Married
The one who reminds Matteo most of his late wife, Emmeline. Chiara's marriage was also arranged, the deal sealed shortly after her graduation from Hogwarts, but she never had quite the same amount of pressure on her shoulders as Rosetta. Matteo adores Chiara, and to this day calls her his dolcissima principessa.

Enrico Hughes

b. 1869 | UCPB | House Class of '87 | Likely Layabout | Rep 9
Bachelor
As the youngest, Enrico has the least pressure on him to be proper and perfect. Especially considering his mother only lived three days after his birth. He's always had the longest leash of the Hughes children, if primarily because Matteo couldn't bear to look his way for the first few years of his life. He might be employed, but odds are he's just mooching off Fortunato at the family estate until Valentino gets married.

Ines née Hughes

b. 1855 | UCHB | House Class of '74 | Bastard Socialite | Rep 6
Married
The title of bastard has hung over Ines since she was born. Raised primarily by her grandmother, Teresa, Ines knew from a young age that she Didn't Fit. Her mother had been middle class, and hadn't been from a great pureblood family. Ines married in 1880, a love match. She barely talks to her father, preferring the company of her indulgent grandmother to that of the father who made a reckless promise.
