I thought Shelley's words might offer you the same comfort they have provided me in times of change. You are on the brink of the greatest change of all, and it pains me deeply that I cannot be there to share it with you. If it were possible, even for just one night, to transform myself into a fifth year and you still a seventh once more, know that I could do nothing else but don one of those new, fashionable gowns and watch with admiration as you make your debut.

As you depart from the castle after the ball, know that you carry something special with you. The halls of Hogwarts will not be the same, nor will the Quidditch pitch. I must confess, I have often longed to cheer myself hoarse at all your matches, even those against Ravenclaw. The matches will never feel quite the same again, nor will my days without our occasional teas.

Though we are not as close as sisters, I cherish you, Calla. I will miss your confidence and your candor—though at times they have pained me. Perhaps I shall not miss having a Potts who excels more at Herbology, but I doubt Professor Skeeter will let me forget it so easily. Everyone will miss the shining example you and your friends have set for us. You have given us something to aspire to, and we will always strive to live up to that legacy.

Hogwarts has been lucky to have you, Calla, as have I. With the great and wonderful adventures you are about to embark upon, I can only send along my fervent hopes that they will be as rewarding as your time at Hogwarts has been.
