It is up to the player if he completed only his OWLs or his NEWTs as well. |

Larkin is the fourth son of the Plunketts and the youngest of the three musketeers (Fred, Declan, and him). He is obsessed with cheese and as such is responsible for the cheese production on the farm. In addition to the cheese Larkin took over Fred’s abandoned idea of wine making and has been dappling in that over the past few years. Larkin is especially close with Declan. His personality is largely open. |
Cole Plunkett

Cole is the youngest of the Plunkett boys and lives up to his role as such. He is cheerful and unaware of the results of his actions. Like all the other boys he has been taught household skills, such as knitting and darning. Of all the boys he is the most likely to work in the General Store or to leave the family business should he so choose. If he works at the farm/store he is likely the one who is in charge of contracts with those who use their farm goods. It is up to the player if he has completed beyond his OWLs at school. |
Elizabeth “Betty” Plunkett nee —

Born and raised on the American frontier Betty is a firm believer in self sufficiency and has taught such skills to all her sons. She makes many of the goods for their General Goods store and is constantly looking for ways to add additional items. She is the reason for the beehives and sheep on the farm and has a running “joke” with Bert about purchasing their own silkworms to make silk. She spends much of her time at the store and is very invested in the lives of her sons.
Her best friend is @”Laurel Potts” and she has a pet ghost raccoon.

Bertram “Bert” Plunkett

Bert is from a long line of British farmers. During school he met and befriended Basil Potts over their shared love of plants. After graduation he returned to the farm and focused mainly on the growing aspects of the farm. He traveled to the American frontier to discover how certain crops were grown there and met Betty. After a shotgun wedding he brought Betty home and they took over his father’s farm.
Now that he’s getting older his sons are trying to push him away from the farm and into the store. He’s had some chest pains, and perhaps a health scare, and is grumpy that his family may have a point.
Overall he’s a gruff but loving father and is trying to accept this old thing called love - oh and maybe to reign in his family when it comes to buying new animals. “No Fred, we do not need hogs on the farm!” "Not the silkworms again Betty!"

Plunkett General Store & East Ridge Farm
East Ridge Farm supplies many of the goods for the Plunkett General Goods and other businesses on High Street. This includes honey from their own beehives, cheese from their own cows, milk and eggs from their animals, wine from their vineyards, wool yarn that is spun by Mrs. Plunkett, furniture made by Declan, woven fabrics which Mrs. Plunkett weaves, giant pumpkins, many varieties of large produce, lotions and poultices of Mrs. Plunkett’s invention, apples from their orchards, and blueberries from plants Betty brought over when they married.
Additionally the General Store tries to carry local goods as well as foreign goods.
Plunkett Family History
Bert Plunkett met his wife on a trip to the American plains to discover how to grow successful American crops. Betty lived in a small town on American frontier. It was love at first site, or maybe lust, we’ll leave that up to the reader. When Bert’s trip was nearing it’s close it was discovered that Betty was carrying his child. So with a great fuss in her town (something Bert’s thoroughly British family made sure did not make it across the pond) Bert was forced to marry Betty. He brought Betty back home with him where he made quick work of taking over the family farm.

There comes a time in every lad’s life when he must become a man. In Madoc’s case, that is when he does the math and realizes that his existing income would not support his lifestyle indefinitely. Faced with the decision of many a second son (find a profession, or...), he chooses the or and marries a woman with a sizable dowry in 1877.
In addition to her money, She came with a country house that is not surrounded by dragons (great for entertaining!) and a desire to be married not out of love but out of a desire to not be a spinster living with her parents. Madoc does not particularly like her all the time, but he does respect her. While she is well-positioned to be a socialite, she could also be a healer at St. Mungos if preferred; she just would have begun her training post-spawning. Though she does not share her husband's fascination with dragons (she'll never admit it, but they terrify her), she does consider herself an equestrian and at least vaguely outdoorsy, and actually handles Madoc's side of the running of the Yarwood breeding stables. Pictured is Claire Foy, but her face is open!

However, Madoc has sent an annual sum to Second's mother each year for well-being, until the Second began at school at which point, this became tuition and some supply money. They do know that their school is fully paid for...and as a result, care a bit less than they should about their studies. They are, however, very curious about their parentage...
They are fully human, and should be at least half-white.

This person is essentially Basil's copy-editor and contact in publishing. He is quite wide open; maybe he has a publishing house, or maybe just works at one, or maybe not at all. Maybe he works for Transfiguration Today and has connections with publishers, or does that on the side? I'm open to discuss the potential but request involvement in this backstory creation-- specifically how he and Basil have crossed paths in the past.
In terms of connection, I feel like we can decide how this goes based on the ideas. Originally my thought it that they've been working together for some time and are friendly, if not friends. I'd like the friends route because I feel like this character in particular has leverage to harass Basil about life things. But also open to dislike and general apathy with potential for developments (both good and bad.) He's been with Basil, ideally, from the beginning of his publishing journey and has been urging the brunette to write an actual book. Basil refuses, because who the hell has time for that, but maybe one day he'll open up to the idea.
Obviously, this character is a fellow Academic ™ and has a strong appreciation and practical grasp of Transfiguration. (If he's also a fanboy nut or not though, up to you.) He generally is very active in that realm though and is Basil's link to the ongoings in academia outside of Hogwarts. I'd like to develop the academic journal community across Charming too and have sooo many ideas, so if even vaguely interested-- hmu. I have so much more on this topic lol.
Face is a vague suggestion, no requirements really just - yanno - male. Age is flex, but would like 30+ (I just need someone to use this face so I don't and to make Basil blush.)

How do you solve a problem like Mia? Mia has never been very good at magic, so her few years at school were hard for her. Since coming home, she has obtained a low-level job, possibly in a shop, and in her spare time uses her artistic flair to help create prettily patterned stationary/card/invitation designs on the little letterpress in the printshop. Prone to daydreaming, she fancies herself an actress, and everyone thinks she would have done very well as a debutante in another life – secretly, she has been known to borrow cast-off ballgowns as her seamstress friend repairs them and sneak into the occasional society party. (Well, if she's designed the invites...) She thinks all her problems would probably be solved by marrying rich.

The baby of the family, everyone hopes Amber will have an easier ride of life. Tess and the others have pushed the benefits of education upon her, which may have gone one of two ways while she is at school – she is either precocious and hoping for a scholarship to see her through to NEWTs, or growing rebellious against her sisters’ ambitions for her, and more inclined to be a troublemaker and follow her own pursuits. Quidditch, maybe? Something far-fetched that won't pay.

He’s her head printer, but sometimes Tess feels like Fabian just wants to watch her fail. An experienced printer, he has been working for their shop for years; and though Tess manages the place now, it probably wouldn’t run without him. As her father’s right-hand-man, he may have privately hoped to take over the place in his stead. They used to get along better and he’s still genial with other people, but nowadays Tess finds him difficult, and they tend to butt heads. (He disapproves of her more political publishing decisions, saying the shop can’t afford to lose all its custom to controversy – and she hates when their longstanding customers defer to him and not her.) And she keeps expecting him to, but he hasn’t left Whitby & Co. yet.

Printer’s apprentice and once-delivery boy, Sam got the job young, having not much schooling and needing an escape from his less-than-ideal family circumstances. Cheerful and mischievous, he has become an honorary brother to them all and always puts on a brave face, no matter the situation. He helps Tess, “Fabian” and “Declan” process print orders and is still in charge of transporting the bigger loads to the post office to be sent out, and likes experimenting with new materials and inking processes. When things get really rough at home, he can always count on the printshop to take him in.

Sera and Henry met during her first season in 1878, but she dismissed him as boring and average-looking. A few months later, while she was cursed, she ended up courting him and they were married in 1879. Henry's occupation is hella open (but he is a second son, and it should be money-generating), but a few personality things aren't. Henry thinks his wife has been in a laudanum haze for fifteen years, and never tried to stop this; and he shows off the children, but is very emotionally distant/neglectful of them. Otherwise, his reaction to his wife's awakening is super open! Sera wants to trust her husband — as a partner, not with the secret — but their different approaches to parenting do not bode well for the relationship Also she might cheat on him, TBD.

He has always lacked Gregory's way with money, and secretly his mother still manages his accounts. (He would be mortified if anyone knew!) Rupert may be still unattached, or may have married at any point in the last six years. As the eldest son, he inherited a country home and one in Hogsmeade, both of which he shares with his mother, youngest brother, and unmarried sisters. He may be the leisurely sort, or may have found a job in the Ministry that is at least vaguely prestigious.

Victoria is the older sister of Benedict and the daughter of middle class parents that own several pet shops including one in hogsmeade. Her parents stretched their finances to ensure both children attended Hogwarts and Victoria graduated her NEWTS in the summer of 1893. She is actively seeking a husband.
Her and Benedict are very close, she is probably his best friend and he misses her since she left hogwarts. She likewise loves her little brother in return and writes letters to him at school. Suggested face claim is Cara Bossom.
Personality isn't set in stone but she is a good, kind hearted person who loves her family and is relatively happy with her direction in life. Her profession is open but it shouldn't be something that would come between her and finding a good husband.

Catalina's sister, dearest friend, and greatest supporter, Penélope married Clinton Podmore in late 1885/early 1886. Her second pregancy was a very difficult one, making her anxious now that she has learned she is expecting once again—she might deliver any time from June '94 to January '95. Penélope lives primarily in the countryside. Growing up, she was considered to be pretty, kind, patient and, to their father, obedient—at least until she sided with Catalina. Since marrying (not for love, though it may have bloomed in the years since) she has grown more confident and outspoken, while still recognizing the norms of society. Along with Lina and Julián, she is one of the more religious of the Flores children. Suggested PB is Diane Guerrero.

JULIÁN FLORES DELGADO

The dutiful son. A bit of a hellion in his earliest years, his mother's perishing in the Laughing Plague (and his own near-death experience with the illness, from which his constitution never fully recovered) sobered him considerably even while still at Hogwarts. Of the Flores children, he is most like their father: traditional, stubborn, and loyal to the family—though not always their individual ideas as to what is best. He often tries to play peacemaker between Lina and their father when she is home and is, along with Lina and Penélope, one of the more religious of the Flores children.

The fun-loving son. A bit of a hellion in his earliest years, Álvaro matured into a young man who still very much has a sense of fun; he is young enough that he is still rather selfish, though not in a malicious way. He is the least religious of the Flores children, attending services only when explicitly prompted by his father. He would much rather engage in whatever his passions happen to be or things that bring him joy and, though he loves her, sometimes uses Lina's disobedience as excuse for his own 'bad' behaviour.

The son of a man of the Spanish Ministry of Magic, Juan Antonio grew up in a household where compassion was the watchword, a number of muggleborn children passing through the household after being cast out of their own. He took his wife's death hard, doubling down on ensuring his children had everything they needed to thrive in life (well, to thrive the way he expected them to) to make up for the loss of a parent. Had he attented Hogwarts, Juan Antonio would have been in Slytherin. He has always been stubborn and leans more traditional in his expectations of his children, but is genorous (by Victorian standards) to those less fortunate. He wants to mend fences with Lina, but something within him will not let him, resulting in things between them being strained, to say the least. Suggested PB is Benjamin Bratt.

The Kensingtons
A large UCHB family, Willa and her siblings were raised by parents who loved each other and whose mother Tallulah Kensington firmly believes in love. The only thing their father might arguably love more than his wife is traveling — he is abroad often, though would never miss an important family event like a wedding or birth. In a whimsical move, the children were named alphabetically, from both directions at once. (Names here are changeable but should retain the same first letter for both first & middle name).
Zarchariah A. Kensington [born 1866ish] is firmly of a marriageable age and the heir to the estate - the only thing that has saved him from bearing the full force of Mama's marriage-minded machinations is that his sisters have been more in need of attention. Reserved for Nichole.
Yvonne B. -- nee Kensington [born 1868] was married by the time Willa engaged in her first season and has therefore always been a guiding force for Willa. Notably, she explained bedroom activities near the end of Willa's first season to prevent her from doing anything stupid due to naivete. She probably married her husband for love; at the very least she would have been encouraged to by Mama.
Xavier Kensington [born 1871] went on tour after school and discovered that he picked up their father's penchant for traveling; he either has or desires a career that allows him to spent copious amounts of time abroad. Too young to be looking for a wife, he enjoys teasing both his older brother and Willa when it comes to the demands of the season. PLAYED BY KIT
Viola E. Kensington [born 1876] is a recent graduate and either debuting this year or going to a year of finishing school first (her choice). She has always been keenly interested in the season and has often pestered her older sisters for stories about it, but now that it's her time to shine may be feeling some slight trepidation (that she probably won't admit to) and definitely some pressure to perform well.
Ursula Kensington [born 1879] is a student in any house (prefect season maybe? she's a blank slate you do what you want here). Played by Dante
