Sisse Thompsett — Played by Fallin
Taking the first turn she could find, Sisse dashed the first few tears from her eyes, hoping that Sloane and Cameron would just leave her well enough alone. But as she made her way down the corridor she could hear Sloane’s voice behind her. She’d given them their privacy, wasn’t that enough? Apparently not.
But like a good friend Sisse stopped, she quickly wiped her eyes with her sleeve cursing the fact that she cried just as much from anger as from pain. Then she turned and looked at Sloane as she caught up with her.
Fully aware that they were in a hallway rather than a classroom Sisse was determined not to make a scene…. But she couldn’t help saying something. “
How could you?” Sisse hissed, altogether unsure if she meant how could Sloane kiss Cameron, get involved with him without telling her, or even how she could not know that both Alice and Sisse had some form of feelings for Sloane. It felt like a betrayal of their friendship, even if Sloane was generally clueless about such things.

Sloane managed to keep sight of Sisse as she moved through the hallways and around a corner, kind of tucked out of the way, she finally came to an abrupt stop, Sloane nearly running into her. Before she could even start to say something Sisse hissed out words Sloane never ever thought she would hear; how could you?
How could she what?
Taken aback, she visibly recoiled, took a step back even. Sloane knew sneaking around to steal alone time with Cam was not appropriate, but this seemed like a reaction to something else. "I don't-" She didn't know what to say, what her question even was. "What do you mean?" She was clueless about these things. This really was some girly situation she didn't know how to deal with. As soon as the rest of them started discussing these things, she tuned them out. She'd rather read her potions textbook than discuss boys as anything other than friends.
Whoops.

The look on Sloane’s face was almost enough for Sisse to drop the subject,
almost. But the fact that she didn’t rightly know why Sisse was upset was enough to keep Sisse standing there in the deserted hallway. “
How could you not tell me, Sloane? I thought we were friends!” Sisse started her betrayal leaking into every word. There was no way she could mention her own feelings about Cam, that would be altogether mortifying now, but there were enough other emotions swaying through her about the whole thing. “
Friends tell each other things! Instead you’ve told me for years how you aren’t interested in Cameron and now this?” There was no hiding the hurt now as Sisse pointed back the way they had came, every emotion she was feeling visible on her face.
If this was growing up she didn’t want it. She wanted to go back to being a first year, happy to have made friends no matter their differences. Now the divide between them all seemed to only loom each year, something she had tried to ignore this past year but now was glaringly obvious to her.

"Of course we're friends! I- we didn't tell anybody because what would we say?" Oh hey friends by the way we figured it we have mutual feelings for one another so if you can't find us we're probably sneaking around empty classrooms trying to spend a minute alone together was a little bit too much information!
Sloane was a bit miffed that Sisse was insinuating that she never had an interest in Cameron. She may have never outright said anything about the confusing feelings she held for Cam previously, but she'd never been asked outright either. "I never, ever said I wasn't interested. I never partook in those discussions for a reason and I didn't pay attention to them either, because I think that's personal information!" Honestly this is why she liked having more guy friends! Why was it such a big deal to know every boy one of the girls took a shining to? There were so many!
She was trying not to get worked up about it, but now she felt like she was being accused of doing something wrong, not just mildly inappropriate.

Sloane’s words hit her hard, harder than she had ever thought possible. Like someone had tugged a rug out from under her and told her that yes, she had been wrong about being friends this whole time. It took the fire out of her and left her feeling sad and lonely. “
But that’s the thing, Sloane,” Sisse started her voice softer a note of defeat in it, “
Being friends is sharing the personal stuff.” Which clearly Sloane didn’t trust her with.

Was Sloane the one misunderstanding how friendship worked or did everyone else have unrealistic expectations? Only take the electives they're taking; tell them every little detail about any personal thought they'd ever had; keep the banter to a minimum.
"No, being friends is respecting boundaries on whether or not somebody wants to share personal information." Sloane felt the angry tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. That's what she'd learned from last year's argument with Cam; forcing the issue would only make it explode. So far that was the only instance of when she'd been a poor friend. This did not apply. She hadn't told anyone about her feelings until it had come up to Cam who was the only one who really had a right to know.
"Just don't get Cam expelled, since you think everything needs to be shared." She sniffled and turned to walk away.
Now she had to think of reasons to make this her fault and not his if they were going to be tattled on.

"
Fine." It was as if Sloane had determined that Cameron was worth more than all of them, as if the first three years of their friendship had never even happened. But if that was how Sloane wanted it, how she thought friendship be then fine, Sisse wouldn't push her.
Sloane walking away hurt even more than her words. Her lack of trust in Sisse's ability to keep things to herself. She was the soul of digression and she cared much too much about Sloane to get her in trouble. Not that Sloane waited to hear that.
Sisse turned the other way, this time the tears weren't only because she was angry but because she knew now that she really had lost her friends.
